A Hidden ParadiseAnisabel Suites is a small, two-storey hotel/restaurant that is very hard to find if you're not familiar with the place. Its not located along the major highway, which ensures its guests a quiet stay. Each room, is spacious and classily decorated. The most interesting part of this hotel is that the room itself and the bathroom is only separated by a thick curtain. ideal for newlyweds on their honeymoon. Food selection is also great, and they do their bacon really well. overall, its a great place to stay in davao if you're looking to relax at the end of a tiring day.

Hidden and Unexpected Relaxing AccommodationAlmost all hotels in Davao were fully booked by the time I flew there, and I was on waitlist in an accommodation that I was booked in last April 2017. Instead of waiting for confirmation, my counterpart booked me in Anisabel Suites instead. And it was quite a pleasant surprise given that there are plenty of positive things to be said about this hotel. LOCATION: It is literally off the beaten track, because the hotel is located in a residential area surrounded by private subdivisions and villages. Plus factor is its proximity to Davao International Airport. A mere 20 or so-minute cab ride at the most, and without traffic. It is also about ten minutes away from Abreeza Mall so it's really accessible to a lot of landmarks within Bacaca vicinity. You'd be shelling out between P60.00-P70.00 for cab fare only. Economical for when you want to buy something or grab some food from a lot of fast food chains in the mall. Although across the street is a convenience store offering a lot of stuff too. And it is also close to 7-Eleven, Mercury Drug store. THE HOTEL ROOM: In terms of security, the rooms are secured enough that the door locks uses card keys. You've also got hundreds of channels to choose from when you start surfing the TV. There are plenty of HD channels that are provided to guests, as well as the standard channel broadcasts. Best room accommodation for me is room 103 where I stayed. It is immediately opposite to the door leading to accommodation, right across a nice veranda. From this room, you can also see the parking area so it's easier to know if your service is already there simply by taking a peek from your door. The interiors are nice. Pretty much standard for a three-star hotel. There's bedspread, nice fluffy blanket and duvet, and pillows comfortable enough for a sound sleep. You will however be surprised once you see the division between your room and T&B. The bedroom is only separated from toilet & bath by floor-length thick draperies, and this means that when you start taking a shower while the air conditioning unit is turned on, the breeze will naturally flow through to shower area giving you chills. Although aesthetically it looks pleasing, that's the only downside to it. But other than that, the T&B is adequate and clean. THE STAFF: The hotel staff is courteous and accommodating. They are sensitive to the needs of hotel guests. THE FOOD: First time I tried their bacon for breakfast, it was close to perfect. The bacon wasn't greasy, yet it was crispy and delicious. Next that I tried was their Italian sausage for breakfast. This one easily captured my taste buds as it was surprisingly good. The hotel staff told me they ran out of stock for it because I wanted to have the same for breakfast. And then, there was this Pork Binagoongan. Another surprisingly tasty dish that they churn out from Mamu's restaurant. It was so good, the fish paste wasn't salty at all, because it was balanced by almost sweet tomatoes, perfect topping for a crunchy chunk of pork. And come Saturday, I tried their pork and chicken adobo and hell I can't believe it tasted so good too. On a scale of 1 to 10 for food, I would give them 8 easily. I really wasn't expecting their dishes to taste that good. TAKE NOTE THOUGH: One colleague who was also checked in at the hotel stayed at Room 102, and he complained that this room was connected to room 101. The problem here according to him is, the door access is disabled from 102 side, while there is a key and door lever from 101 side, giving the guests from that room easy access to 102. So it's a bit of an issue here that needs to be attended to by the hotel owner/s. There really wasn't much of negative things to be said about with my one week accommodation experience in Anisabel Suites, except for that room 101 aspect. Oh, and some dogs barking sometimes in the wee hours of the morning but it wasn't really that bad. In fact it makes you feel you are part of a residential environment while having the convenience of a hotel. For those seeking for alternative accommodation when other hotels are fully booked, and you want the hotel close to the airport (other than Seda of course which is just a stone throw away from Abreeza Mall), then Anisabel Suites should be in your list of better options.

Simple and cozyBeen to the hotel for one night and it looks and feels pretty good. It has nice comfortable beds and a clean bathroom, but there are a few drawbacks. They advertise that they have a coffee maker but they have none in their rooms and their bathroom and bedroom are also just separated by a curtain. All in all, it is a good stay.
