  First stay the weekend of October 19th with 2 rooms. Location wise, its convenient. Theres a convenience store around the corner, the harbor is within walking distance from the hotel and along the way an art district where you can see art installations. Our room 513 has 2 double beds that sleeps 4. The room was fine but the complaint I have with this room is that the carpet needs to be cleaned/shampooed. Theres a large spill of what looks to be coffee at the foot of one of the beds. In hindsight I shouldve taken a photo and included it with my review. Room 522 has 3 double beds that sleeps 6. The shower/bathing room in this room is ridiculously small. Theres no rack to place towels or change of clothing. It was very inconvenient and lacked practicality. Our room rate included vouchers for night snack and breakfast. Theres a wide spread of Chinese and western options. For breakfast, those of us that chose Chinese style were happily satisfied but a family member opted for the western and stated that the food was cold. The line for food moved quickly while it was slow for coffee. We also dined in the hotels seafood restaurant for dinner and had one of their packaged/fixed menus ($3,500 Taiwan dollars). Quantity of food was great but wasnt unique. It appears that the hotels biz is primarily from tour groups. It is busy and somewhat crowded. If I were to visit Kaohsiung again, Id be staying elsewhere that is less busy and less trafficked (just a personal preference).

  Next to LRT station, convenient

  Good points about the hotel: It is just 20 meters away from the LRT stop. It is convenient. You can reach almost the whole Kaohsiung city by subway. The room is spacious. Larger than most you can find in Taiwan. Very clean. The up keeping is good. Staff are friendly. Hotel offers free supper from 9:30 pm. This is a real surprise to me. Hotel operates three big restaurants within the premises. You can eat to your heart content without leaving the hotel. The restaurants are crowded so you have to make advance booking. The not-so-good-points: The breakfast room is large but very messy. There are so many group tours moving in and out so the breakfast room look more like a war zone. Food runs out very fast. No quality. Awful. The lights in the lifts are dim. I don't understand.

  Perfect location on weekend

  This hotel is ideally located, especially for Weekend stays as it is right in the middle of the new art district with lots of shops and restaurants and only a 5 minute walk to Love River. View from the "harbour view rooms" is fantastic. Restaurant is very much oriented towards Asian Visitors, which is why this hotel does not get my full Rating.

  Spacious, Clean and Comfortable

  This hotel is nicely located opposite the Pier-2 Art Center (art galleries, cafes, retail stores, museum, etc) near the Kaoshiung Harbour. There is a big convenience store beside it. The light rail station is also nearby. Remember to take a walk along the Love River promenade in the evening. There are also many pubs in the vicinity. The room is spacious and clean. The bed is firm and comfortable. The bathroom with a glass shower cubicle and the toilet are separated. A whole range of amenities including flat screen television, mini fridge, electric kettle, hair dryer and toiletries are provided. Fast and free WiFi is available in the room. Buffet breakfast is served on the ground floor. It offers many varieties of local and oriental cuisine. We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Note: There is another City Suites a few blocks away - City Suites Kaoshiung Pier 2.

  Excellent accommodation

  A perfect budget hotel with very convenient location, just next to the harbor and the circular light rail station. You can access the Pier-2 Art Center by walk, watching the night view from the tower bridge. The hotel itself also great, very spacious room, also a bathtub in the bathroom.
