  Saturday Night Dinner

  Our Son and family wanted to take us out for a meal as we were staying with them for a couple of nights, This Hotel when you drive in has a great welcoming entrance and when you pull up there is this large renovated House, we were welcomed into the entry and sat down in the lounge for predrinks, hors d'oeuvres came and were well presented, lounge we were in had a great old fireplace and could imagine in winter fire lit and enjoying the warmth having a nice wine or coffee, we were then ushered into the restaurant and seated, menu (many courses) explained and was something for everyone. Our meal was well presented and a good size, the chef came out and made sure we were all satisfied, which was commendable. I noticed in the Lounge on a cabinet was some Trophies of the Chef winning a yearly competition so when you visit for a meal you can expect a special night. We will visit again when we go to our Children in Hastings later in the year. The grounds are beautifully kept and the old trees were spectacular and good for children to run around.

  All Round Excellance

  A thoroughly enjoyable few days where all staff worked hard to make our stay feel something special. Rooms are spacious, comfortable and well appointed. Serviced twice daily to a high standard. Pool, Sauna and Spa area similarly spotless. Very generous breakfast included and 3 course set menu dinner with matching wines excellent value. Cycle way on Napier Rd makes for easy access to neighbouring Havelock North, Clive, numerous wineries and cycle trails. Sure to return.

  Feeling very spoilt!

  Wonderful long weekend at Mangapapa, the staff treated us like royalty, the food was amazing! We enjoyed a delicious high tea, ordered from the a la carte menu, and our last night the set menu. Our room was spacious and clean, serviced twice daily. The grounds were well kept and ideal for a late evening stroll to walk off our food coma!

  Christmas 2020

  We were not looking forward to Xmas 2020 due to Covid restrictions preventing our overseas based children and grandchildren from visiting us. However our experience at the Mangapapa from the outset was an absolute pleasure. All the staff are truly professional, friendly and attentive. Our accommodation was in pristine condition and very comfortable and well attended with 2 service visits per day. We loved the turn down service with the handmade sweets and the meals we enjoyed in the restaurant were truly memorable and amazing. Our duty Manager Tomas is passionate about his work and the hotel and really went out of his way to ensure our stay was relaxing and enjoyable. It is impossible to say anything negative about our stay at Mangapapa as it both met and exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend a visit to Mangapapa to experience impeccable customer service on all fronts and we look forward to returning there again ourselves

  Sensational two nights

  We stayed for two wonderful nights at Mangapapa and were not disappointed. The staff were so helpful, the surrounds amazing and my goodness the food was to die for. Our room was so spacious and private. Overall top marks team. We will be back.
