Good Value for MoneyI booked a non-smoking twin room for 3 nights at an affordable price in November 2019. The size of the room was pretty good (by Japans standards) and the typical amenities, including a hairdryer, were provided in the room. Check-in was smooth and efficient, and we were allowed to leave our bags in the hotel while we explored the area since we arrived before the 3.00pm check-in time. In terms of location, this hotel was quite convenient. There is an exit to the Fushimi underground shopping street right at the end of the road, which is in turn directly connected to Fushimi subway station. Fushimi subway station is only 1 stop away from Nagoya station and 1 stop away from Sakae station. It is also a 15 minute walk away from the main Sakae entertainment area. Having said that, if I do come back to Nagoya again, I may try out a hotel nearer to the main Sakae area. I had chosen this hotel because it was closer to Nagoya station, but if one is taking the subway, the difference in terms of time taken is quite negligible.

Value for money stay for businessHotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is a short taxi ride from the Nagoya JR train station. Lots of eateries around the hotel especially so for dinner choices. Could not ask for more for 700 yen breakfast when it's too cold to walk out for breakfast

Great ValueAs most hotels in Japan are, rooms were small and fit two at most. Our room had a double bed - good enough for petite-sized occupants but a bit of a squeeze for anyone bigger. I advise against huge luggages because you won't have room to open them. The bed is firm, so are the pillows, which are great if you prefer them firm. My travel companion prefers soft pillows so she wasn't keen on what we had. Housekeeping should also be more particular about dusting the rooms' curtains. Our friends' room's curtains seemed to have collected a bit of dust that triggered rhinitis attacks. Bathrooms are clean; you can avail of toiletries at the ground floor. I think this is also because the bathrooms do not have any counter space at all, so get just what you need for the day. All shows on TV are in Japanese, so bring your own downloaded movies. Breakfast is substantial enough and good if you will be staying for 3 days at most. Otherwise you will prefer to have breakfast in any of the nearby restaurants for variety. Location is good enough. There are two subway stations within 4-7 minutes' walk. If you don't mind longer walks, Nagoya Station, where huge malls reside, is two stops away and is around 20 minutes by walking. Sakae is also just a station away and near enough to walk (10 minutes). Mitsukoshi and other malls are located there. Service is good but a bit of a struggle as front desk personnel hardly speak Japanese and rely on portable translators. That did not bother us at all, though. I admire their sincerity and desire to assist despite the language barrier.
