  Paz y tranquilidad. No apto para gente ruidosa

  Desde qué llegas al lugar te desconectas del mundo ruidoso. Un camino de tierra que parece interminable te llena de incertidumbre hasta llegar al paraíso. Es un lindo resort muy silencioso y tranquilo, en las noches duermes arrullado por los grillos y el soplar de la brisa. Los apartamentos son cómodos, espaciosos y muy bien equipados, viajamos con un bebe de 5 meses y nos facilitaron una cuna sin recargo adicional. La limpieza del lugar es excelente y su personal muy amable. Nuestra recepcionista preferida fue Zoe quien nos recibió con su amplia sonrisa y alegría. Al llegar el calor te agobia y te reciben como un rey con una toalla húmeda y fría que te refresca hasta el alma, el turquesa de las aguas que rodean el resort te hace alucinar. Aunque la playa del lugar no es nada especial es ideal para niños por su poco oleaje y poca profundidad. Recomiendo alquilar un auto por un par de días y visitar playas como long bay y jolly beach. Solicitamos un taxi que nos buscara al aeropuerto y el servicio fue excelente incluso llegaron con una silla de bebe para la comodidad de mi hija, nos hicieron una pequeña parada para comprar algunos víveres y seguimos al hotel. Por otro lado el hotel cuenta con una pequeña tienda para comprar cosas básicas. Cuentan con un kids club muy lindo y completo, puedes aprovechar el servicio de nana para los niños y salir a navegar o al menos descansar un momentito de los niños. No me sentía en un hotel sino en mi casa. El personal muy atento, educado y colaborador. Cuentan con juguetes para los niños, piscinas lindas y cálidas por el sol. Si buscas ruido, mucha gente y desorden NO vayas a este lugar, este sitio está diseñado para la relajación, el disfrute y La Paz. Simplemente no recomiendo a Antigua como un destino fiestero y bullicioso, más bien me pareció una isla muy tranquila ideal para quienes quieren escapar del desorden. Volvería un par de veces más a Nonsuch Bay. No olviden preguntar por Zoe. Ideal para familias de buenas costumbres.

  Spectacular location, great service, beautiful hotel and grounds

  Had a wonderful two week stay at Nonsuch Bay with our family of 5. We stayed in one of the hotel's 3 bedroom apartments - stunning views, spacious, well equipped and very comfortable. The hotel staff were engaged and helpful with any requests that we had during our stay - installing a desk for my husband who was working while we were on our trip. Highly recommend a day trip to Green Island with Shakimba - he was a brilliant guide and we went out with him on a number of occasions. Highly recommend from start to finish!

  Nonsuch Resort: poor facilities

  Beach side villa -most have good views but be careful you get one with a view. Very basic decoration and terribly old bathrooms and kitchen fittings. Dark heavy furniture. No other facilities open on this side of the Resort. ie no bars or restaurants, no shop, no service, 1 man at sports shed but not all the time, Nice restaurant at The Escape on the other side of the bay but small number of tables and so always full. Dont get room service as it arrives over-cooked and cold. 1 person at the lobby from 8am-5pm. Then no-one around to help. It seems this section is being neglected and no money being spent here. Only at The Escape with a few villas for "honeymooners". All staff are very nice and try to help.

  Great if you want to be away from it all ... but a bit odd

  We booked Nonsuch thru British Airways using AVIOS points, I feel that its was all rather misleading.We knew we had a room only, thats fine happy to walk out and find breakfast nearby..... but you can't as the hotel is so remote! We were situated in a large one bed villa in the 'family " section of the resort ( we are a couple in our 50's although we still think we are in our 30's!) We had no idea it was " self catering" and on arrival had nothing but a packet of almonds to eat. I expected that the resort was a hotel not self catering. Due to Covid and no fault whatsoever of the hotel - everything was closed apart from the couples area at The Escape - all meals were served here as well as a small bar area and a pool. To get to The Escape you could either walk, a good 15/ 20 mins up a very steep hill or call a car service to collect you. Therefore we ate breakfast in the restaurant every day, it was actually very nice and I would recommend the eggs Benedict which became my staple every morning. We skipped lunch most days but did enjoy one very tasty dinner of Lobster Thermidor. There was no resort information in the room, no maps of the resort, not even a bottle of water in the fridge on arrival. The resort is very remote, a 14 minute drive down to Half Moon Bay will bring you to a beach shack serving cocktails, beers, but opening times were sporadic.We had heard they did a very good lobster roll but with no opening times and limited info we never actually got to taste it. A car is VERY necessary here, even the taxi driver from the airport turned up his nose when we said Nonsuch Resort in Freetown. Although there are a number of swimming pools on the resort the only one with drinks/ food service is at The Escape so everyone from the hotel gravitated to this pool which was a shames the other pool lay empty. I appreciate we are in the middle of a pandemic but the facilities need to be made more customer friendly. If you did go another pool and called up for drinks to be brought to a different pool they charged you $5 for the pleasure, thats non sense! The villa we had was very nice, lovely four poster style bed, huge walk in closet, kitchen with American fridge freezer, although badly equipped not even a bottle open! terrace over looking the sea, nice bathroom, although the shower stall was tiny. All very nice but far too big for what we wanted. All the staff were very helpful, very professional and friendly and are a credit to their employers. The Green Island tour is great and we really enjoyed time on this lovely little island, so much so we wanted to visit again on our last full day only to be told it was the boat mans day off - no information about this posted anywhere in the hotel. Should you do the tour I would recommend going on the early boat take a picnic and walk thru the bush onto the other side of the island to a beautiful and rather private beach, this was our plan.... but it never materialised. If you want a very away from it all experience with no other dining options in the vicinity this is the place for you, if you want to be able to trot out at night and go to other bars or restaurants without driving the awful pot holed roads with no road signs 40 mins to English Harbour then think again. Maybe I did not do my home work well enough on this one.

  A Wonderful Honeymoon Experience

  Our time at the Escape at Nonsuch Bay Resort was thoroughly enjoyed. Our room was clean, luxurious, and state-of-the-art. From the flat screen tv to the indoor pool to the air conditioning unit that turned off when we opened the doors to our own pool, the room was just perfect! The location of Escape was also particularly perfect for us as we were not disturbed by anything on any given night. And in spite of limited amenities, which was due to the COVID situation, we still enjoyed our time there. For us, the main attraction was the staff that we came across. While all the staff members tended to operate with a level of expertise and competence, as well as care for guests, there were a select few who REALLY made our stay there very well enjoyed: Our first special encounter was with Petrina. She made our arrival night very welcoming as she went above and beyond to ensure that we were taken care of upon our arrival. To her we say a hearty "thank you!" Maxine and Maurica made our dining experience well enjoyed as they were very friendly, willing and ready to ensure that we were totally satisfied with our meals (especially that mango smoothie), and they both delivered each time in a very timely manner. Glendon, the security officer, was also extremely pleasant. We especially enjoyed as he shared words of wisdom as he escorted us to our snorkeling experience. And we saved he best for last! Where should we begin with Schena? From the beginning, when she served us, there was something notably different about her. Perhaps it was her dress code, which was a cut above the rest. Or perhaps it was the way in which she exuded a certain "je ne sais quoi" in regality. Whatever it was, it was noticeable. Upon engaging her in conversation, we discovered that she was in management! To see the way that she waited on us, even serving our meals at times and checking on us to ensure that we were satisfied, spoke volumes to her humility and dedication. As the days went by we became quite acquainted with her. She even took several pictures for us as we posed by the pool! We are happy that we met Schena! She definitely adds value to this resort! We also know that there are others who worked behind the scenes to make our experience second to none. Persons such as the housekeepers, who brought fresh linen on time daily; the chefs, who made meals that made our taste buds jump for joy; Velma and Abigail, who we made our initial contact with; and whomever beautified our room for our first night! All in all, we would definitely recommend this place again and again! You would not be disappointed! ~ Davin and Alvita ~
