  safe and clean

  Atakök hotel is a nice, clean and comfortable place to stay. Personnel are cheerful. When you compare service and price, you see it is worth. You can stay without any doubt about safety. Generally, people are in Ankara for business purpose, choose this hotel I guess. It is impression from the breakfast time. I was pleased while my stay.

  Superficially excellent, but not what was promised

  I stayed two nights in Ankara between Istanbul and Cappadocia, and got what I thought was an excellent deal (about US$50) for two nights at Atakosk Hotel, a 5* establishment according to Hotels.com. Couldn't have been more impressed when I first arrived. Atakosk was a 20 or so minute walk away from ASCI bus terminal, had a grand looking entrance and a beautiful room. Unfortunately, things went a bit downhill from there... The hot water in the bath was more lukewarm than hot, there were no tours on offer or means of transportation to tourist sites, other than taxis, and the electricity short-circuited in the room for an hour one night. The blanket was more a thin towel than a blanket proper. The hotel promised two bars (a rooftop bar and a terrace bar), but neither were open - not even sure if the rooftop bar even exists! Couldn't decide if the hotel was new and still developing, or was in the middle of some kind of renovation... The wifi was also a bit sketchy and dropped in and out while in the room. The staff were quite polite, and a few spoke English (but some others didn't seem to speak much at all). There's a breakfast on offer, which is quite fair in its selection but I wouldn't have known omelettes were available to order if I hadn't overheard another guest asking for one. On the whole, I'm not so sure what to make of the experience. It was a bit surreal that underneath the polished veneer, the whole hotel didn't seem to "work" well at all. I can only hope that things will get better, and that the hotel can one day live up to its appearance.

  CLEAN AND NEAT

  We stayed here for one night as a family with two kids. but really enjoyed it.very neat clean and elegant hotel. bed was comfortable and staff were friendly. the hotel has an indoor swimming pool Hope to come back to this hotel again

  Try This no-chain 5star

  Pros: -location is close to governmental buildings -budget price level with 5-star comfort -very new and clean -spacious rooms -large tv screen Cons: -too much noise in the room (fridge?) -noise isolation too bad between the rooms -low quality bathing cream set for a 5-star -too high (~60 cm) threshold for bath tub -no 2ndary chain-locking on the doors -too less light options -too slow wifi

  Tansportation From/To the Ankara's Airport (ESB)

  Thank you all for your informative reviews! I appreciate if anyone could give me information on the transportation options from/to the Airport to/from this Hotel. Is there an UBER available in Ankara? What is a taxi fare from Airport to the Hotel? Is there a shuttle bus commuting between Airport and the Hotel? What about public buses and their fares?
