  Nice Accomodations in quiet part of town. Food was good but VERY limited.

  Accomodations were very clean and staff were attentive to our needs. The food was basic but good. The only choice for dinner our first night there was chicken and chicken is what we got, nothing else. Breakfast was eggs and bread. They had instant coffee only. Guest house was a nice walk to town. WIFI worked the majority of the time. My room had it's own bathroom so I do not know anything about the communal accomodations. If they had better food choices, I would have rated this higher. My room was on the first floor and was very quiet. Nice garden area and nice seating on the terrace.

  Great base for my trip

  This was an ideal place to stay, quiet at night, close to Jinja. Really friendly staff. Breakfast was basic but fine for the cost. Thank you to all the staff who helped when I lost a ring which rolled off the balcony. They looked high and low in the grass until they found it.

  in spite of prepaid booking - hotel was booked out

  We had booked our stay in the Bridgeway via booking.com in September 17 and the 90 $ for 2 nights had been withdrawn from our credit card shortly after booking. On the 25th of October, our arrival date, our driver dropped us at the Bridgeway. The staff welcomed us, carried all our luggage into the hotel and waited for our driver to leave - just to tell us then that the Bridgeway was booked out and that they had to take us "to another branch of our hotel" just 200m away, with "the same standard as the Bridgeway". Being very tired and being assured that it was "just another" branch we agreed and were transfered to the hotel "Maria Grant" - to a very tiny room in the backyard where we could hardly move around the bed. After one night at least they transfered us to a bigger room. Talking to the Tourist Information about it and checking on booking.com about the prices of the hotels we later found out that the manager had lied to us. Maria Grant is not a branch of the Bridgeway and the price for a night in a double room is only 35 (not 45) $. So they gained 20 extra $ with us. Mistakes can surely happen. But we think overbooking the place is rather strategy of the management. The very sad thing is that they neither apologized for their mistake nor offered a compensation - they just decided on lying on us. They even had the audacity on offering us additional nights for 160.000 UGX (so again 45 $)! We decided to spend our additional nights in Jinja in the "Paradise of the Nile" then - for less money with far better standard and even a pool.
