  Nice hotel but very dark

  We booked a family room for two nights and arrived in the early hours of the morning. The lobby is quite spectacular with two oversized ceiling lamps with crystals descending from them. The decor is lavish. Our room was a fair size for a family room with bunk beds. The lighting in the room is very dull even in the morning the light from outside was poor as the window was small and in a corner of the room. The bathroom was small, again with poor down lighting for men to shave and women to do makeup. There is no handle for helping you climb in/out of bath to have a shower and the shower door is fixed so it can be quite precarious getting in and out with nothing for support. Beds are comfortable but pillows are awful. The type of large pillow that you lay down on and it envelopes your head. Breakfast is substantial, but I would suggest having thongs for picking up the sliced fruit instead of the oversized spoons. I observed one guest just giving up trying to lift up the fruit with the spoons and use his hands instead. Not very hygienic. Staff were pleasant and chatty and some were more helpful than others. We had misplaced our phone plug after we checked out and while they inquired about it with housekeeping, another staff member (who had just begun working with the hotel) offered to recheck our room after it was cleaned and then offered us a replacement plug from lost property box. Im sorry I didnt ask her her name. We did book a separate third night before departing Kristiansand. We had spent one night in Stavanger in between. This time they gave us two doubles. I felt that these rooms were more recently refurbished as the bathrooms especially were more modern than our previous room. Its a good hotel and the location to the ferry is ideal. There are nice cafes beside it and the town has some nice restaurants.

  What a shame!

  I dont even know where to start from, i am so frustrated. First things first, it was understaffed, long queues, no one answering phones, and we did not get any information about when and where the breakfast is, as well as what can we do near by. Rooms are so warm between 25-26° AC broken and they did not offer any solutionsn u cant even sleep, i only had one or two houes of sleep. My gf went down to ask for a fan but did not get any, so when i went down to ask and they suddenly had a fan out of the blue. Some staff were rude and others nice. Also when it comes to parking you have to book a place and pay for it or else if full and we did not know that so there is that. Breakfast was allright. For me who saved up money to go on a nice vacation with family, this was a waste of time, money and vacation, the whole vacation was ruined and its unacceptable!

  Nice hotel, good breakfast

  Nice hotel with a central location in lovely Kristiansand. Nice room with good beds. The breakfast was good with plenty of choices. Everything was clean and the covid-19 situation was well taken care of.

  Needs more comfort

  The clerk checking us in was snotty, one of the corona symptoms - which made us a bit nervous. The hotel is stylish, but a bit rough around the edges. Only two electricity sockets in my room, and also near the ground and away from my bed so charging your phones and watches is a problem. The shower is inside a bath tub. Getting in and out feels like a Acrobat act.. and the shower heads highest position was somewhere around eye level.. so showering is quite uncomfortable. Bath tubs are not hygienic; Id rather see a nice rain shower like most modern hotels. Breakfast was okay, and they try to make distinctive small dishes which were very welcome. So: extra sockets, usb power near the bed, remove the bath tubs and this hotel will be up te date.

  Excellent family room

  Comfortable big beds single beds and comfortable bunk beds perfect for 4 people. I love the big pillows. Nice clean bathroom with bathtub with Ritual (brand name) soaps, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. Delicious breakfast with lots of choices. Clean, modern and practical room. Great location in the middle of Kristiansand, close to café, restaurants, shops etc.
