  Convenient quiet in upmarket area.

  Hotel located on very frequent bus route 6 into the city and adjoining train services. Very close to restaurants and a supermarket for snacks is 100 metres away. There are coffee shops just down the road and we were able to get from the airport in 35 minutes...There are walks around the large lake only 10 minutes away and a food streetmarket second to non 5 minutes bus ride away.

  Nice place

  We arrived at the Nippon with friends for a long weekend for the xmas market. Greeted by friendly staff and very well spoken English. Rooms are clean and have everything you need. The main problem is the extra charge for the basic breakfast, there are nice cafes near by I would advise to go there instead. But I would certainly look at staying again.

  Very basic, no public transit.

  The hotel is very basic. the rooms are cute with their japenese them, but the bamboo smell was a bit too much :) Th reception service was as basic as the hotel. The beds were not that comfortable, the pillows kept sliding everywhere. And it was badly located, no trains or trams. only taxis or you have to walk very much. No restaurants around. only a supermarket.

  Everything works and its a sensible price

  First up: There is nothing Japanese about this hotel - but the rooms are nice and the mini bar is free. On a business trip, wed organised boating activities along the lake. The Nippons location was perfect - just 7 minutes walk to the water - and with a large, healthy convenience store in the middle. It will cost you 20 for a cab to the Nippon from the airport - which is a 40 return journey. That might bring other hotels in to play - for example near Hauptbahnhof. The room was a good size, very modern, with a powerful AC unit (very welcome - since we booked in the middle of a 34 degree heatwave). Breakfast is basic and the staff are friendly. It is a fine example of a good 4-star hotel near the main lake. VERY STRANGE: The photos online make the hotel look like a Japanese dojo. Our experience was of a very straightforward western-style hotel. Not a tatami, bamboo curtain or chopstick in sight.

  Standard hotel nothing special

  Don't understand why me and my husband had 2 single beds put together, with 2 separate duvets. Strange. Definitely wasn't a double room. 15 euro for a very measly spread for breakfast, avoid, go to the safe down the round called Das Backhaus, so tasty there, much cheaper. The hotel was nicely decorated however, it wwas eerily quiet, so music, lights were barely on, didn't feel that inviting at all. It's also not close to the city centre, you have to take a bus for about 20 minutes. Standard hotel. Would recommend but only because the Syrian restaurant next door was amazing!
