I had to stay in the hotel on behalf of Tunis LAir because of flights delay. The hotel is not bad at all but will never be my first choice. The rooms are OK and not more then that. The room was clean and enough towels, soap, shampoo (although you'll never are able to open the pouches with wet hands) where there. Breakfast was typical north African which means plenty of cake but no bread. Very strong coffee and 2 juices. Not my type of breakfast. Diner was included but not good. Simple... The location was very good in the centre of Tunis. The staff was very helpful and very very friendly. I must stipulate this. Please be aware that there are two El Oumara hotels in Tunis.

The worst and dirtiest hotel I have ever seen

The hotel is ranked 3 stars it should be one or none even. The blankets were dirty with spots on them still with some crusts. the drawers were broken, the french window doors were not closing properly and extremely. the curtains were not hung properly. one of the bedside lamps was not working same for the room lobby light. No phone service in the rooms (the telephone was there, all sticky but no tonality) the tv was not working (a small broken box was there with half of the buttons missing, and no single channel is there, let alone a remote)I can go on and on and on. And i swear i'm not exaggerating. One and only thing positive i could say about this hotel is how nice and helpful the reception people and all the hotel employees were and that I guess is true for all tunisian people in general. Internet wifi was free in the lobby area so at least that was there. I went through all the reviews and I was extremely surprised how people cld like this hotel, seriously !!! i was even angry coz i relied on those same reviews to accept such a transit hotel by tunisair. So either this hotel has reallly deteriorated since their reviews or its only lies or maybe we are speaking about a different hotel, coz the one and only el oumara at rue ali darghouth looks like to be an abandonned property. Please people be objective and honest in your reviews other are relying on them.

    too much for too little

I don't have a lot of good to say about this hotel. I stayed there a few nights, found the staff friendly, but not at first. I took breakfast which was mediocre. The room as clean and quiet. The thing that put me off the most was the dirt on the street right in front of the hotel. If I was the owner or manager, I would pay someone to keep the street clean and dry. The immediate area is too dark at night and many drunks sloped around.
