Absolutely amazing views and super staff

We booked through our travel agent with Jet2 for 14 nights but had spoken to the lovely Iris at the hotel on the phone beforehand. We were a little concerned due to covid - but talking to Iris sealed the deal ! A marvellous ambassador for the hotel - plus a fantastic lady in real life !! We had a room with a really amazing view - plus you could plane spot too as the runway was not too far away (did not spoil overall tranquility - the donkey in the field below is noisier !) The room is smart and simple. Lovely balcony with handy rack for drying clothes and bug door so you could sleep with the door open if you wished. Beds are 2 twins put together - we had surprisingly comfortable nights asleep. The bathroom was large and well aired albeit I found the shower/half bath was a little tricky to manoeuvre in and out of. Our cleaner, Marinella was very thorough and the towels were changed each day. Free air con was a massive saving - although in all fairness we didnt use it much as the room was pretty cool. Outside the area is not so suitable if you have a mobility disability as pebbly beach is down a steep path and the walk to Skiathos town is initially up a really steep hill for 350m with no pavement. If you can get to the 350m sign the rest of the walk is easy. Hotel provide shuttle bus to and from Skiathos town at selected hours - the guys would stop too if they spotted you enroute. 10 euro for a taxi. Swimming pool is beautiful, very large, lovely size- part shade / part sun whilst we were there. I enjoyed being able to swim !Really not sure though, why, when only 1/6th hotel was full that people had to reserve the sunbeds or shout so loudly round the pool area and from their balconies. Vaso - at breakfast and evening meal excelled in her role - with great conversational skills (at appropriate times) funny and caring, she knew all the guests names, likes and dislikes and we enjoyed some nice meals. (All excellently covid spaced )Nik and philippe in the bar were great. Very attentive to everyones needs. We felt like family! Costas, the night manager, always made time to check we were ok as we arrived back in the evenings! The hotel is secluded but you can get to town easily so just build those costs onto your budget ! Great value for money, superb staff and views absolutely amazing. Ms Xenia runs a very nice hotel and we were spoilt by her team. I was nearly crying when the owner, Nik, Vaso and Iris all came to wave us off.

    Avoid avoid aviod!!

We stayed here for our August holiday about 2 years ago. The place looks nice enough, but the location is terrible. Dispite been non assessable by foot, a taxis are essential to take you to & from the10mins ride to the beautiful town, and will charge you £20 for the trip.( taxis are extremely overpriced in general on the island- account for this in your budget!) When our first driver picket us up and asked us where to go - he laughed at us when we said Punta!...but said it had a nice view!! The all inclusive option was terrible, the food was barely edible and the drinks include were poor, and the beer was flat and warm. The food was mostly poor, and was obviously what was remaining from the days previous. The private beach was about a 10mins (difficult) walk away, and was dirty covered in old dead stinking seaweed.,however, once you swan away and around the rocks- the water was beautiful. The only transport to town provide by the hotel was at 5pm, which was too early to go into the town for the evening...we were using between 2 and 4 taxis a day, 4 if we wanted to go to a nice beach during the day. Even the taxi drivers didnt want to take us up to the hotel because the roads were so bad, and It was impossible to escape from or return by foot by foot. He owner women had a bad temper and was rude, and most of the staff appeared fed up, and didnt want to be there!! The receptionist cleopatra seemed nice enough but offered no compromises, and was obviously well used to these daily complaints, We didnt see hind nor hair of a rep from any agency our entire 2 week stay. And despite our flights not been till later in the afternoon, we were asked to leave our room at 9am, and out wrist bands we removed straight away so we couldnt have any inclusive soft drink while we waited for transfere back down the hill to the airport...which we also had to pay for!! There was no evening entertainment at the hotel, so unless you paid the £20 taxi into town and again back, it was like a prison. The hotel itself, was reasonable and clean with fantastic views across the bay...Shame it would be easier to swim across!! I love Skiathos, and have been 11 times since I was a child, until now...I will return again- but not to this poorly operated hotel.
