  Off the beaten path, but a gem

  We went to Nuremberg for the World Cup, but could not find reasonably priced accomodations in the city so we went a bit further afield (about 40km) and stayed at Hotel Riesengebirge. The hotel was a real gem- the hotel is large enough to accomodate small conferences, but has a country appeal. The staff was very helpful, there was a small bowling alley downstairs, a restaurant, a beer garden, and internet access. If you have a room on the front street, be aware that you make wake up to the sound of cars driving over the cobblestones, or if not, the church bells are bound to wake you up. We would also highly recommend that you have a car if you are going to stay here. The nearest train station is a town away and you will have to take a taxi, or perhaps, an infrequent bus to get back to the hotel. There are so many picturesque villages in the area that you would want a car anyway. Note, that the hotel is also in a very small village, so there are limited options for spending time in the village itself. Finally, be careful of hidden costs at the hotel- we were surprised at checkout to have to pay 10 Euro per person for breakfast. It was good, but not worth 10 Euros. We also were charged 2 Euros for using the computer twice. A reasonable price, but we felt like it was a bit penny pinching to charge us in the hotel. Note that the hotel has wireless internet! Although some people might be turned off by the location, but it really was quite a charming place and worth the stay.

  Top Segment Hotel

  The hotel management is so friendly, thoughtful. You stay and feel confortable inside of village. The facilities of hotel is marvelous. The breakfast is tasty. You will feel so different reason of dinner atmosphere. It looks like German historical places. I request from everyone eat apple and drink apple juice there.

  Great place to relax

  I have spent a weekend with my family in this one of a kind place. Very relaxing atmosphere since our arrival; the staff is professional and well-trained. Nice ambience, clean and spacious rooms and good food. We will go back!

  Old fashioned place

  I have stayed here during the business trip. The rooms are quite small and also little bit old fashioned. The internet connection was really poor. Big advantage is a short lenght from the Markt Erlbach investment zone. The restaurant is really great, with very good quality and taste.
