  Best value ever

  We recently stayed for a week at Landhaus Biehl. It was a wonderful large room that was incredibly clean in the old German style. The food at the restaurant was some of the best food Ive ever had. Everything was so fresh and hot...truly a gourmet experience. The owner was so helpful in answering questions and helping with everything we needed. Was sorry to have to leave. The prices were incredibly reasonable given the quality of everything. Hope to get back here soon.

  A wonderful week in Philippsheim

  Ïn the middle of nowhere"is Phillippsheim. A nice friendly hotel. Good to be there, Good food, Good bed, Friendly owners. The room with Balcony was nice and clean, bathroom also. The view and the sun great. The owners cares about their guests. The trainstaiton is opposit the hotel, but you don't hear him and also the small chicken across the street,the sleep inside. But when you visit them they run to your, so nice. In 40 minutes with the train you are in Trier for (this year) 14 incl the citybusses. Go to Phillippsheim Landhaus Biehl and you have a wonderful holiday and the walkingtour go right from the hotel.

  Beer dinner

  Fantastic! Celebrating flavors with a beer dinner. A 6 course menu with a beer pairing in each course. 1st course was marinated roast beef paired with a Helles beer--amber colored beer 2nd course was a clear broth soup with tender hearty noodles paired (salty) with a Hefeweisen (sweet) had a hint of banana 3rd course was a fresh salad woth homemade dressing paired with an herb and citrus beer 4th course is a homemade blackberry sorbet paired with a Belgian wheat beer (apples, oranges, herbs and coriander)-- the combination of a fruit bomb 5th course was pork filet wrapped in bacon paired with an IPA from Bitburger (Bitburg is just 15 minutes away). The beer had the smell of papaya, passion fruit and lemon sandwiched between orange peel, clove and honey 6th course was vanilla quark mousse paired with Brabar Bok beer a dark expressive beer with malt, soft wheat and honey. The dinner was a celebration of the palette! Full bodied flavors complimenting one another with an amazing aesthetic experience. All beers were from local breweries. 5 of the 6 were in Germany and the last was from Belgium just 45 minutes away. Europeans are sensual with food both in their presentation and in their passion for flavor. An experience I truly savored--absolutely amazing!

  Must stay location

  This little gem is In a picturesque valley in Philippsheim not far from Luxembourg. The hotel itself is worthy of a postcard and the interior is superb as well. Comfort and cleanliness rate high here and the breakfast is a fantastic traditional German breakfast. The highlight of a stay here though are the hosts, Dirk and Nicole. Very friendly and accomodating, they make you feel right at home. The only slight downside was our room not soundproofed and the neighbour in the next room could be heard clearly on the phone. A mere blip on what was a five star stay and excellent value. As an added bonus try the Eiscafe Dolomite just up the road in Speicher for a vast array of delicious ice cream delights.

  Outstanding Small Viallage Accommodation

  Stayed here for three weeks and it could not have been better. Dirk & Nichole are wonderfully kind and considerate hosts. They both speak fluent English and are very proud of their affiliation with the nearby US air base. Their rooms are spotless, their breakfast and restaurant well above average, and they are more than willing to answer questions, acquire train tickets at the station down the hill for day trips into Trier, and in my case, even telephone a landlord to inquire about an available apartment rental. It was like parting from friends when I checked out. Highly recommend this family-run "Landhaus" if you're staying neat Bitburg or have business at the nearby Spangdahlem Air Base. Exceptional value for the area as well. You will not be disappointed!
