Highly recommendedWarm welcome, clean, well appointed bedrooms and en-suites. Reception and public areas very clean and comfortable. Lovely setting, grounds beautiful. Rooms were lacking tea/coffee facilities. The hotel restaurant was not open on the night we arrived but the owner quickly booked us into a nearby restaurant, which turned out to be superb. We would stay here again.

Just what was neededWe found this place on a baking hot day at three in the afternoon Our room was very clean and comfortable and it had a spotless avocado bathroom suite, which took us back a few years The staff were very polite and helpful and the pool was bliss on such a day Food in the hotel looked good but we were only in need of a snack

Good locationWe stayed at this hotel twice, returning again because we had had a good experience the first time. The location, below Domme and near the river, is good, although I would advise asking for a rear room to avoid the main road outside. The food is quite good, although maybe a bit pricey on the a la carte, and the service is good. The staff are friendly, polite and helpful and responded well to our requests. I would overall describe our stay as "comfortable". One reason for our return was the ability of the team to be responsive to our dietary needs, which they did better than other places we have visited. I would agree with another comment that the "refurbished" room that we had was looking very tired and in need of a paint and the bathroom was a little awkward to use, access to the toilet being tight and the overhead shower spraying out over the floor until you use the hand-held alternative. Wifi is terrible, except around reception. Reception may however prove a bit tough. Our stay this time was marred by a dispute over the final bill with Patrick, one of the owners. We felt we were not charged as agreed in advance for one of our meals and he refused to put the matter right, which left a less comfortable feeling at the end of our stay.

Not all it makes out to be...................Spent a couple of nights here. Immediately asked to an upgraded room from the very tired one we were offered having booked via Booking.com. Staff very helpful in offering us a quiet recently refurbished room on the 3rd floor (no lift available) at the back overlooking Domme at no extra charge which brought overall standard to just about average. Still a bit pricey for what it was. Cheaply furnished, but clean. All credit to the front of house duo who were helpful and polite throughout. Swimming pool was a plus, albeit unheated. Adequate breakfast included in the price. Grounds and facilities generally looked run down and couldn't recommend staying for more that a couple of nights at most when so many other to choose from in the area. Photos on the various websites now seem out of date. Handed the room door handle to the receptionist when leaving as it had dropped off during our short stay.
