    Poco lujo

    Functional and quiet location.

We have been here two times over many years and find that it is functional and the quiet location is nice vs. the busy village. The tiny kitchen is well equipped and functional for almost true cooking. Beds were comfortable enough and the pool and hot tub is a plus with kids. The patio and front face of building faces road and has regular bus noise. If on the back, you face the pool and woods. No real views from the location. The place is not too big and busy. The bus was manageable to either go to Whistler base (10-15min) or shortcut to Blackcomb just a few minutes away. The thing that is annoying is that the floors and walls are paper thin and we have always been woken up by people above us or beside us banging around for hours. This is typical of whistler lodging. I noticed through some of the open doors that many units have hard floors instead of carpets that make the furniture and boot banging excessive. I wish they built the building better with adequate sound absorption, but not much can be done now except mandating carpeting. They also seem to allow dogs and we heard a barking dog a few times.

    Very Disappointing

The bed, bed, bed was like sleeping on concrete and worse, was the management initial response to concerns about the bed. Also the no key system which requires you to remember two separate 10 digit codes to access the property and the hassle of entering the codes each time you enter the property/room. Also the main entrance front door was broken, for up to 6 weeks prior to our visit (as advised by another guest) which required difficult after hours entry through the carpark.

Very helpful Staff - Phil / Nice Peaceful Quiet Room with Comfortable Bed

My fiance and I stayed at the Lost Lake Lodge, Whistler BC August 23 - 27, 2020. We booked our room via Expedia.ca. On the expedia site, we booked a specific room (the website showed the actual room with specific pictures and amenities. Expedia information indicated the front desk would be open at the hotel itself until 1800hrs. As we were driving from Prince George, (8 hour drive) we didn't want to have to check in at a remote site, so we drove straight through. Upon arrival, there was no one at the front desk, the hotel was locked up. We therefore had to book at a central location. We checked in at this separate site. (only a couple minutes down the road from the Lodge Lake Lodge) When we went to the room at the Lost Lake Lodge, we were booked into a room which was not what we had booked. (We booked a room with forest view, not poolside on the ground floor) I drove back to the central check in, and dealt with Phil. He was very busy, and said the hotel were sold out. He would have to play around with things, see if he could get us a better room. Phil got back to us quickly. He had to contact his supervisor, and did in fact find us a room which was perfect!! (4th floor with a view of the forest) We were very happy that he took the time to arrange this. (having working in the hotel industry / front desk for 12 years myself, I understood how tricky this could be) The room itself was wonderful. It had a separate Bedroom, with a really comfortable King Size Bed. The room was spacious, with all the ameneties one needs. Really loved having our own washer and dryer. Each room had a large big screen TV. There was a nice patio deck off our room, with the quiet forest next to us. We used the pool and jacuzzi daily. It was well kept, clean, and the water temperature in the pool and jacuzzi were perfect. It was never busy, and had them to ourselves most of the time. The room itself could have been cleaned better. The fridge was leaking a purple liquid onto the kitchen floor, which made the floor sticky. It had been doing this for some time, as you could see prior guests had tracked it onto the carpet. I intiially thought it was freeon, from the fridge. We reported this to the front desk, and mainentnance were promptly sent up. Maintenance determined it was something spilled by prior guests. We cleaned the floor ourselves, and put paper towel at the base of the fridge to catch any leftover syrup. (couldn't find the source in the fridge when we inspected it; it appeared clean) We also found remnants of spaghetti on the floor. When we got home, we realized we had forgotten jackets in the closet. I phoned the hotel, and got Phil again. He reported that the jackets were in lost and found. He shipped them to us UPS right away. (we had to pay for the shipping, which of course is understandable) Overall we were pleased with our stay. We really appreciated Phil going to bat for us. The hotel public areas were clean and well kept. The hotel is in a quiet slightly remote area. It is near the Lost Lake Beach, and close to beautiful trails which we used daily to bike on. The trails all lead to Whistler Village and surrounding areas. We loved the location. **side note** Parking is expensive. $20.00 per day. But this is typical throughout all hotels in Whistler.
