  Comfortable, safe, very clean and spacious suites

  Kitchen area with a cooktop, microwave, full size refrigerator, but I didn't look for utensils and flatware. All the rooms here are quite large by motel standards. Nice amenities, nicely decorated, excellent service by the staff. A great value for a mid range hotel.

  Just one night

  One night was enough for me. Batbroom was dirty. Pubic hair all over tub. I travel with clorox wipes so I quickly wiped the room down. I dont trust that everything was clean although it didnt look bad. Staff was friendly. Quiet location, felt safe, breakfast was okay. Not sure if the attatched Sleep Inn is better?

  DO NOT STAY AT MAINSTAY HOTEL IN LUFKIN, TX

  The unprofessional, rude, and ignorant so-called general manager, aLYSSA gARCIA, needs to be FIRED! They charged us twice for a room that smelled badly. The police officers in Lufkin said she has a reputation for calling the police on people for no reason. She is a poor example of anyone working with the public. She needs social skills snd intensive training dealing with the public. She is a very unhappy, demonic person who takes out her disappointment with herself on others. The police encouraged us to stay at hotels in South Lufkin. What the police officer was saying about aLYSSA gARCIA and Mainstay spoke volumes! We stayed Best Western in South Lufkin the second night.

  HORRIBLE GENERAL MANAGER

  I called this hotel before we left for our stay to inquire if there pool was open and if face mask were required. I was told the pool was open and they did not require any mask even though the it was mandatory in their county at the time. When my daughter arrived she was refused a room. They charged her credit card then told her they could not use THAT credit card for the outrageous deposit they charge locals. We offered to put the deposit on our card but Manager Alicia Garcia refused her the room. Telling her she didn't think she would be happy there. When my son-in-law tried to speak to her about the room she cussed him and asked him to leave. We went out to the pool area. There was no sign about limiting the number of people at/in the pool. I had called earlier in the week and was not told about a limit. My daughter also called and was not told anything about a limit. Manger, Alicia Garcia came out to the pool area and told us there could only be 7 people in the pool area. She did not want our daughter in the hotel at all. This woman has NO manger skills what so ever. This is not a customer friendly person. She needs to be fired.

  No masks, no breakfast, no coffee cups

  Hotel itself is beautiful. However, no staff wore masks, other customers didnt wear masks and no hot breakfast was served at all. Desk staff couldnt find any coffee cups in the morning either and kept walking close to me (with no mask even though I was wearing one PER the poster on the front door) even though I was moving away. I will be writing a letter to their franchiser.
