  Terrible service

  Me and my mum stayed here for a night. First they tried to put us in a terrible room with a view of WALL! Then in bathroom there was nothing! And we asked for it and they said they ran out of tooth paste and everything!. Its a joke! Dont ever stay here!

  Very nice

  I was surprised staff very helpful. Small family run hotel. They go out of their way to help you. I would stay here again and recommend it. Clean quent rooms. Easy access to everywhere.. Burak the owner and front desk speaks English.

  Great location with easy access to everything you need on the island

  I spent 3 days at the Marine House Hotel with my husband and my mother. We had two rooms. Because we were traveling with my elderly mother I called ahead of our arrival to request the two rooms near each other. I spoke with Burak who was very polite and spoke some English as well. I was not sure what we would get but imagine our surprise when the staff made sure we had rooms next to each other! They provided extra towels, pillows and everything we asked for. The staff was excellent. Breakfast was perfect! Eggs, sucuk, breads, cheese and so many other choices. They even provided a special pot of coffee each day for my mother. The staff at the front desk was friendly and had excellent knowledge of the island. They even booked a fayton for a tour of the island for our mother. They were able to give us information on places to see that were not just tourist locations. We had a wonderful time on Buyuk Ada in large part because of the staff at the Marine House Hotel. Yes, the rooms are a bit small and the location is not in the "Tourist Crazy Downtown" but for us that was way better because we felt like we learned more about the local's on our trip. By the way - this place was outstanding to my elderly mother! Thank You Marine House Boutique Hotel...When I travel to the islands again...this is where I will stay.

  The owners and staff were very friendly, helpful, polite and gracious.

  This was my first visit to Turkey with family. It was amazing and the people were friendly and helpful. We stayed for 14 days and visited many places. The hotel is on the main street where you can see all the local activity and merchants. The room was very nice, clean, and overlooked the markets. It was within a 5 minute walk to the ferry and it couldn't have been a better location. There is a breakfast room on the top floor, where you can see the harbor and enjoy the sunsets. If I were to get the opportunity to go to Istanbul in the future, I would love staying at this hotel, because of the friendly owners and staff and convenience to all things.

  Central location but needs a good cleaning

  Check in was smooth, easy, and quick so no problems there. The location of the hotel is right in the heart of the city, so you'll hear a lot of the pedestrians, tourists, restaurant noise, etc. from down below the street when you open the window. So if you're looking for complete quiet, this is not the place. When I entered my room, it smelled like they had just sprayed it with air freshener, but after awhile, there was a bit of a musty smell to the room. The pillow cases and bedsheets smelled like smoke, so that was not the most pleasant. But it wasn't unbearable. The floors needed a vacuum - it was quite dusty and lots of hair was still there on the floor. The coffee table, side bed tables all needed dusting. There was a small puddle of water under the closet, which was probably coming from the mini -fridge that was inside the closet. The fridge was not cold at all when I arrived (that's bc when the key card is not placed into the slot, all electricity is turned off. So the fridge had to be plugged in for quite awhile before you got a cold fridge). The bathroom (WC) is probably my biggest complaint. I can tell that when this hotel was new, it was probably nice and clean, but over the years, there has been a buildup of mold and mildew which is on the ceiling of the bathroom. You can smell it. Also, the room wifi was virtually non-existent. Breakfast was decent and the rooftop cafe was nice. Wifi is good there!
