  A gem

  This little B & B is just wonderful. It is impossible to fault it in any way. The rates are extremely good. We found it easily using our satnav and it is well sign posted. There was good easy free parking on the road outside. It is run by wonderful Francesco who immediately offered us refreshment - tea, coffee or cold orange. He then showed us to our room 'EROS' on the 1st floor. The room was lovely - large and airy and nicely decorated. There was good air conditioning and a very nice shower room / loo. The room led out onto a large balcony where we could drink our wine and watch the sunset over the roofs and chimneys. The balcony led round to a much larger area where there was a large table under an umbrella and chairs and sun lounger. This is where we sat and ate our lunch most days. This area also had access from the stairs and so I presume could be used by others but no-one else did and it felt like ours. Breakfast perhaps might be the area were some might be critical although we were quite happy with it. There was an instant jug of fruit juice. Then Francesco makes very nice coffee (espresso) for my husband and I had excellent cappuccino. There were bread rolls and butter and jam. There was cereal (I had muesli) and milk. There was yoghurt and plenty of fruit. Compared to other places we had visited there was less of an emphasis on croissant, pastry type stuff. There is excellent free Wi Fi in the rooms. The B& B is situated just on the edge of the village. It is an easy stroll in one direction to the Main Square and Church. It is a real village as yet unspoilt by tourism. We also went for lovely walks in the other direction into the country (mainly olive groves) full of spring flowers and prehistoric Menhirs and Dolmans. We also discovered the amazing Byzantine Crypt of Saint Salvatore with frescoes near the main square and the fascinating Crypt of Saint Paul with its fresco of a spiders (tarantulas) web with all the folklore about St Paul and the Taranta the Tarantella etc. Within easy drive is Otranto with its amazing church and further north there are wonderful beaches. I so wish we could have stayed longer

  Agree with previous review - a gem in a very small italian village. We were made to feel most welcome and the location out of Otranto (nightmare for parking) gives access to the coastline to both West and East.

  Olimpo B&B ; great experience !

  What a nice experience. First time I travelled alone. After a quiet flight to Brindisi I drove to this nice little town where Francesco was waiting for me. This place felt immediately nice. A crystal clean establishment, lovely breakfast with several mornings good pasticciotto. Francesco is a fantastic host giving all recommandations you desire ; visits, resto's, beaches, towns, ... Summary ; recommended !
