Lovely peaceful location, great base to see TuscanyWe thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Poggetto di Montese with 5 nights in the Le Rondini apartment (2 apartments on the property). It was great to have a kitchen to cook for ourselves for a few nights. The view of San Gimignano on the next hill was lovely to wake up to in the mornings, and be able to sit and enjoy a vino in the garden watching the sun set. My only advise would be that this is an easy location if you have a vehicle, but not so easy to walk safely to the bus, as we thought we would be able to do. It is quite a walk, downhill to the bus, and uphill from, but no safe area to walk in parts of the road. We had a hire car and this was a perfect base to visit Chianti, San Gimignano, Volterra, and Florence (we drove to Certaldo where there is plenty of free parking and caught the train from there). The lounge area is detached with a breezeway between the kitchen/bedroom/bathroom part of the accomodation. We didn't use this area much as Italian tv is mostly in Italian, but it was well stocked with local information and brochures. There is also a covered pergola area with table and chairs and some lilos in the garden. Marco and his family were lovely and respected our privacy. Their puppies provided some lively entertainment.

Bella VistaThis is a small one bed apartment with the most stunning views over to San Giamanano. Very italian, compact but comfortable, with an area to eat outside as well as a kitchen table and oddly a seperate living room, but it really isn't a problem (even when it was raining and we dashed across protecting the wine with an umbrella). Very friendly family and dogs to play with too! San Giamagnano is fabulous, especially in the evening, with real atmosphere and great food, really recommend heading for car park 1 if you are planning to spend time there, it's cheaper than the rest and free at night. You really need a car here, it's nice to visit Sienna and also get a train from Certaldo to Florence, and lots of other lovely villages around to visit too. Volterra is a lovely trip too.

The best view of San GimignanoThe apartment is located a bit away from the center of San Gimignano, but is easily accessible by car. On the large terrace you have a great view of San Gimignano. The area is quiet and you can relax comfortably. The owner and neighbors are very friendly and accommodating. Spending time with the two dogs, visiting every day, was one of our highlights. This accommodation is more than recommended!

We think this is likely the best villa rental you will find!We did have trouble finding our way to this spot so a bit frustrated on arrival but once Marco showed us the villa, we were thrilled! Incredible, peaceful, gorgeous location with stunning views of San Gimignano and the orchards from the garden, that is yours to use. The kitchen, bedroom and bathroom are in one building and the living room in another across the pathway. An odd setup but totally works. Both were more than comfortable, spotless and welcoming. Equipped with everything you could possibly need...even a hairdryer! The rooms were very hot during the day but with windows open, sleeping was more than comfortable with the cool cross breeze. The covered outdoor patio area was wonderful, and was where we spent our time when not touring. Being dog lovers, we felt quite at home when Maffi the border collie and Olivia the golden retriever came to play. What fun! Marco was a terrific host, respecting your privacy but always available to help if needed...even calling on a family member who helped us sort out a wifi problem. Location is ideal for not only visiting San Gimignano but all the wonderful villages nearby. Our favourites are too many to mention but don,t miss Certaldo and Radda in Chianti. Thank you Marco for giving us a home away from home for our 6 days in beautiful Tuscany.

San Gimignano out your kitchen window! What a gorgeous location! The rental unit sits against the owner's house with a stunning view of San Gimignano, only 3km away. I don't know how your view could get any better. There are so many charming little towns around! It sits right on the Via Francigena, so there are beautiful day hikes linked by the well-traveled trail all around. It's a short drive to Volterra, Monteriggioni, Certaldo, Poggibonsi, and of course San Gimignano. Marco is extremely helpful and accommodating, and even helped a friend book a place nearby while we were there. The two dogs, Olivia and Mafi, were such a delight! The rooms were spotless, spacious, and well stocked with everything and everything you could need. Only negative point are the other two penned dogs that can bark and the slightest provocation. A lovely base camp to explore Western Tuscany.
