Basic accommodation close to slopesThis aparthotel offers very basic accommodation with little kitchen and small bathroom. It was fairly clean and had all we needed but it was far away from a city centre and the closest shop was about 20-30 minutes walk (downhill to and uphill back). Due to the height abd low oxygen pressure an uphill walk with groceries bags was not an easy task, especially on the first few days. It would have been nice if they offered breakfast. They normally operate a minibus but it was being fixed when we stayed so we had to walk all week. There is a small gym with sauna and hot tub but we had to go outside of the building to get there which was not ideal with -15C outside. Also the cleanliness of the hot tub was questionable. The wifi was only available in reception area and it was very slow.

Cervinia 2Good location. Welcome sauna and jacuzzi at the end of the day. 100m from the piste so practically ski in ski out. Really friendly reception staff. Great ski area. A 10 minute walk to the village but is that a bad thing? I think you could do worse than give it a whirl.

Time share resort, rather outdatedThis is a time share resort, so there is no restaurant, but it does have games room, solarium, sauna. The staff are very friendly and the man at reception has very good English, and he even printed some paperwork for us.There is a shuttle to the slopes every ten minutes in the morning and afternoon. We used it in the morning, but not in the afternoon as we could ski back. Free covered car parking is available. However, there are a few problems. Our room was very outdated. When we got there we found it did not have a bed, only a foldaway bed which had not even been opened up. It did have a very small kitchen, but not a microwave, which would have been useful. Also the accommodation is spread over 2 buildings, so for us to visit our friends, we had to go out into the carpark to get to the other building. The lift only goes to the 5th floor, which was ok for us on the 3rd, but not our friends on the 7th. Wifi is only available in reception or the games room.

At the MatterhornAt the end of the road in the beautiful Aosta Valley. Takes about 40 min. to drive from the Autostrada exit through curvy mountain roads. Lots of good restaurants nearby. La Bricola, 300 meters away, was particularly good.

Clean, comfortable, great staff, outdated, good valueWe stayed in a standard 2 bed apartment. Spotlessly clean and enough room for three adults. The furnishings were basic but functional and obviously from the 1980s. Bathroom was the most tired room, with the third person usually getting a tepid shower only. Special mention must go to the reception staff who were quite brilliant. Its not exactly ski in/out as the nearest slope access is 300 metres down AND up a very icy road....so difficult in ski boots. A car is a must as its a long walk into town, but the indoor car parking is a huge plus. Overall we would probably stay there again....depending on the price.
