  Just ok

  I stayed one night in this hotel. Room was clean and wifi was good. Unfortunately the church or chapels bells make a lot of noise as from 4am.. I think the chapel is located on the same premises as the hotel.. Breakfast was simple, limited choice. We had diner in the Biergarten, quality was not good. The motto of this place is much food for little money. E.g spareribs as much you can eat for 12

  Interesting location followed by multiple disappointments

  You want to celebrate a 75th birth day with friends and family close to Berlin? Schloss Diedersdorf quickly comes to mind, it is even pointed out as a scenic place on the Berlin Autobahn Ring! While the location - a stately home (chateau) dating from the 1740s in a small hamlet south of Berlin - is very pretty, you will find parking facilities located at least 400 m (1/4 of a mile) away and you are even charged 3 Euros. No shuttle available, and the walk is partly an cobble stones. Not using the parking lots will get you towed and therefore is not a good idea. The setting for brunch in the stately home was very uninspiring, with nearly no space on one side of the table to move, and this with buffet-style set-up, limited selection of rather tasteless dishes and only one person serving the entire room, easily sitting 50 guests. Perhaps other parts of the ensemble (there are different restaurants on the premises) have a better value for money, the experience of brunch at Schloss Diedersdorf was disappointing, the parking situation is a rip-off, and the place is not the place you want to celebrate memorable events!

  Large room in friendly scenic hotel outside Berlin

  Large comfortable quiet room. Castle is fun. Friendly service. Nice restaurant. Lovely location in the countryside away from main roads. 40 min. drive to the center of Berlin, where parking is not difficult to find (there were spaces on the street in front of the Cathedral near Museum Island in the late afternoon) or to Potsdam. Maybe not ideal if you've never seen Berlin before and want to do all the museums and monuments, but great for a second visit or for a relaxing visit if you have more than a few days. Some noise from delivery vehicles and other machines operating outside my room in the morning, which was away from the main complex. Probably doesn't affect most rooms. Parking next to my room was free. Don't know why weissp2015 had to park off site.

  Lovely hotel and restaurant - not far from Berln

  Lovely location outside of Berlin. Easily accessible to local S-bahn/regional rail. Plenty of parking on site. Check in was easy - friendly - little English but enough to get by. Property was clean and well maintained. Room was clean, furniture in good condition, linen clean and well maintained. very quiet at night - slept incredibly well. Solid wi-fi. Breakfast is additional - but quite good - typical european fare. Restaurant attached to hotel has good food, solid beer selection and reasonable prices. check out was a breeze. at summer time, this place must be incredible - plenty of activities for kids, small theater on ground, carousel, bounce platform - very cool I'd stay here again and would recommend to friends and family.

  Christmas meal, terribly organised!

  We ate for Christamas in the Pferdestall in Schloss Diedersdorf for 45 Euros per Person. It should be all you can eat, red cabbage and dumplings as side orders. They sat the four of us at the smallest table of the restaurant, where there was no space so that we had to remove the Christmas decoration. I think they should not have booked that table for four people. When finally the dry duck arrived and we whent to fetch the side dishes there was nothing left and we had to wait 15 minutes before they arrived, but the duck was already there but it seamed not to bother anyone. One of the staff asked well what is it like at your home when it gets stressfull. Well my guests do not pay 45 Euros per Person and I don't drive a business. They were fully booked and well in advance so they new what the day would be like. I have never seen such a badly organised restaurant for such an event that they have been organising for years. I have been trying to book it for years but I certanly will not be returning. The only thing that worked was our excellent waiter who was always polite and tried all the time to do his best. He saved the day!
