    Needs some work

    We have always loved the anniversary inn and I guess we have been spoiled in the rooms we have stayed in previously. For our anniversary this year we decide to change locations just to be different and wish that we had not. Of course the anniversary inn on South Temple is within the walls of one of the most unique old mansions that Salt Lake City has, the Kahn mansion. The building itself is beautiful and well decorated. The staff are excellent and very accommodating but the room leaves much to be desired. We stayed in Sultans Palace. The room is extremely small in comparison to other anniversary inn facilities we have stayed at. Room temperature was very cold with a space heater that didnt make much of a difference. There was an awful sewage type odor walking from the bedroom to the bathing area that we found quite nauseating. Location of this facility is a struggle as outside traffic is loud and annoying throughout the night In other facilities, and previous experiences we have found none of the issue we experienced. The place was booked so switching rooms was not an option, nor would we consider returning to the south temple anniversary inn. Eliminating the traffic sounds would require extensive renovation which Im sure would be costly and may not be a viable option. The other issues hopefully can be addressed and make a nights stay more pleasant for the next guest

    Never been treated so poorly

    I scheduled weeks in advance to stay at the anniversary inn, a surprise for my husbands birthday. One hour before our reservation I was notified that our room had a maintenance issue and we could not stay in the room. I had reserved a specific room so we were very disappointed since we had been planning the stay for weeks and had arranged our schedules to go. We were offered one of the left over rooms for the same price as our original reservation, however there were only 3 rooms left at a different location or we could change the reservation. I expressed my disappointment in having to pay the same price for a room I did not reserve at the last second. The clerk said the only thing they can do is change the room or make another reservation on an available day, according to her manager. They were not concerned for our inconvenience. I asked to speak to the manager Julie directly, she was not available so I left multiple messages for several days. It took the manager 6 days to return my call. Julie Was obviously irritated for having to return a customers message, said there was nothing they could do, and hung up on me. She made no attempt to right the inconvenience or disappointment. I would recommend you take your business elsewhere. The Grand America hotel is an amazing place to stay with tip top service.

    Awful

    Wow, what a joke. The owners and/or managers here are cheap and rude. We booked a room here months ago. The day before our stay I received a call saying that they would be closed the next night and would need to move us. We were in the middle of traveling so when I heard the message I pulled off the road and called back. The person I spoke with was rude and completely unsympathetic to the fact that they were messing with my reservation just one day before my stay. I asked why the hotel was closing for ONE night and they said it was because they had only a few reservations for that night and therefore they were transferring those reservations to their other property. Isn't that the risk you take in running a hotel, that you might not always be fully booked???? And if YOU do decide to be cheap and close for one day you could at least be kind and sympathetic about it when speaking with your customers. Anyhow, I asked to be booked into the same themed room at the other property since that was the whole purpose of me booking this hotel to being with. Of course someone else was already in that room so I needed to pick something else. I told them that I was in the middle of traveling and that I would hang up with them, pull the rooms up on my phone RIGHT THEN and then call immediately back with my decision. So I picked what I wanted and called back to no answer. Tried multiple times and no answer. I left a message explaining again that I was in the middle of traveling and to please call back ASAP and to try another number since I would not be answering while driving. Of course it took them a very long time to call back and then called the wrong number when they did. So eventually we were able to connect but due to their terrible service we just cancelled our stay. Don't waste your time with this company!!!!!

    rude manager

    I reserved a room for Saturday January 30th at the 5th south location. I had to use my wife's credit card because they don't accept American Express and I don't carry anything else. When I arrived I didn't have my wife's card with me. The gentleman on duty asked why I didn't have the card. I explained that I had used my wife's card due to them not accepting amex. I went out to the car and got the card from my wife. When I got back the manager told me "Not to be rude but how can you not have the card, everyone has their cards" I told him that he is being rude because I already explained why I didn't have the card. He got angry and cancelled my reservation while I was checking in. The manager told me to leave. I told him I would leave after he gives me my money back. he said no and proceeded to call the police on me for trespassing. I told him that when they accepted my deposit they gave me the right to be there. He started laughing and told me we don't have rights only privileges. I asked if he doesn't believe the constitution and bill of right give us rights. He laughed again and said "that piece of paper, it doesn't do anything" The woman and the desk then said OK you have to stop this conversation. I told her that its just us here, there aren't any other customers. I asked for my money back and she said they didn't have to give it back to me, it says so on the contract. I told her that I didn't cancel but they were kicking me out because I questioned his being rude. She said no its because I would wear a mask. I was wearing a mast the entire time. When I was being questioned about the card I removed the mask from one ear and back on my face over the phone so I could speak with my wife about her having the credit card with her. We stayed there last year and it sounded like there was party going on. We contacted management and they refused to help even though it is against company policy to have parties there. We saw multiple people coming and going way into the night. We were given a phone number to contact with our complaint and to this day we have not received a call back or response of any kind. I have stayed at three of their locations and it was always a good experience until these last two visits. Their management of the inns have gone way down. I would not recommend them anymore.

    Date night

    Room was really small but other than that it was a very nice stay they gave us breakfast in the morning check out is noon which is nice also they have a jetted tub and a bath bomb which added to the stay
