  The most relaxing experience

  Located in one of the most beautiful villages, surrounded by trees and mountain, you will find these traditional studios. They are all made of rock and wood and beautifully designed. The views and the serenity of the place are positively unique! And last but not least the owner, Yiorgos, will make sure you have everything you need! Definately worth!

  Perfect Experience

  Not many look for a mountainous alternative for their stay in Greece but especially Crete demands it. Not too far from the southern beaches for an everyday swim, but remote enough to feel the wilderness of the island. The apartments blend beautifully with the village and the mountains and the whole structure creates a lovely atmosphere. By far the best feature of the apartments is the view. By day it overlooks the village and mouain and after the gorgeous early sunset, you can experience the best stargazing you could wish for: More stars than you have ever seen in the magnificent rural nightsky and a clear galaxy arc. The host, Giogos, is a lovely friendly person and a great company. He knows exactly what it takes to be the owner of such a place and how to improve and take the best out of this property. You get a subtle feel of luxury and privacy combined with the outdoors experience in the nature. The room itself was spacious and comfortable. As for the night sleep, I usually can't sleep from the first night that easily, but it amazed me how I fell asleep almost right away, and woke up actually well rested. The surroundings are also a great experience, with a lot of places to visit: The Omalos plateau with a seasonal lake, the local small river and overall natural water springs of the area, the village of Kato Symi and the unihabited Ano Simi, the Selakano forest, and even historical sites, such as the memorial statue at the entrance of the village and the ruins of Hermes and Afrodite Temple, a site that has not been fully excavated. It is honestly a unique experience and I really recommend anyone who plans on visiting this part of Crete to look for this gem that is hidden in the mountains.

  Thorougly dissapointing!

  We stayed there for almost three days. The hotel before we go there was not completely up and running for the season, something that we were told about. Nevertheless when we arrived, the rooms were not exactly ready yet and there was a terrible smell of mould and ashes from the fireplace. The room was supossed to have been cleaned, but unfortunately it was not actually cleaned at all. The floors were not mopped and you could see dust everywhere. There were spider webs on the top of the bathroom, and from the kitchenette, there were a lot of things missing. There was no wi-fi in the room, only in the area surrounding the reception, and the signal was very bad. The price was 70euros per night, with no breakfast or any other benefits included in the price, which was not neither told to us, nor properly explained on thei website. Generally their website is totally misleading. During our first night, when we went to bed, we saw that there was a stain of blood on the sheets, something that made us lose our sleep for the first night. The next morning I mentioned everything to the owner George, the fact that the rooms were not properly cleaned, the problem with the bed linen and the fact that we didn't have wi-fi and the tv in the room was not working at all. He seemed shocked about all these and apologised and told me that he was sorry. I asked him to change the bed linen, because I found it extremely dissappointing and unacceptable, and after I mentioned it after a few hours again, he did nothing again apart from leaving us two clean bed sheets on the bed, without chaning them. So we had to do it ourselves at the end. We were also chraged 45euros, for 2 portions of chips, 2 salads and a bowl of pasta that we ordered for them. In all of our complaints he showed no intention of trying to fix or improve thing for us and the only excuse was that they were not ready yet for the season and thay had not prepared properly. That was another unacceptable excuse for me, because if you are not ready, do not accept any visitors, untill you are properley prepared. Generally the level of the services was extremely dissapointing and the only person that tried to make our stay a little bit more tolerable was his wife Anna. As a conclusion I would say that the cleanliness, the service in general and the price for what it was offered, not only did not meet our expectations, but on the contrary it was of the worst I have ever met before during my travels. I would certainly not reccomend it to anyone, if they do not seriously make alterations, and take their customers opinion and complaints more seriously. The only good thing is that the views and the surrounding area is very nice if you want to be in nature and there is a lot of fresh air and trees around.

  Disappointing due to wrong information and high price.

  To avoid disappointment read the hotel website. We had read what it said on Booking.com. There is NO RESTAURANT, NO BAR, NO AIR CONDITIONING. The hotel is not in the village but 1.5m outside with the last 800m up a tortuous dirt track. Beware the two large potholes in the concrete when fording the stream as they could wreck your car. We arrived in the evening after a 5hr walk and swim in the sea looking forward to a shower, cold beer and dinner. George switched the hot water and fridge on when we arrived (is that why it is a green hotel?) and told us there was no bar or restaurant. We didn't have to wait long for a shower but a warm fridge was never going to cool the cans of larger that had been in our car all day. George offered us a Coke and put our beer in his freezer so that it was cold when we got back from dinner in the village but it was little compensation. The hotel web site does say dinner must be ordered the day before but Booking.com says restaurant and so we hadn't seen that. It was a nuisance to have to drive back along the tortuous track for dinner when we were tired and expecting to relax. The bed was rickety and not very comfortable. The shower was small. This hotel cost us Eu100, about double what we paid the night before (in Kritsa) and the night after (in Spili). The views are lovely, the rooms nice and cool due to high location of hotel and thick stone walls. Breakfast was excellent and George gave us several tips about what to see in the area and Crete in general and a jar of honey.

  A Unique Experience !!!

  This is a place that combine Nature comfort and an excellent food. This a cozy hotel in Dikti mountains that is suitable for mountain hiking and trecking. Furthermore you can also enjoy the nearby south Aegean sea in a less 15m distance. Highly recommended for nature and alternative tourism. We will come back..
