  Some more attention to details and this place will be perfect

  I've been there with my family, 4 people, and I found a very quiet and relaxing place. Close to the Viterbo city center is a very nice place, friendly staff, room very clean and confortable. I found just three small errors: No humidifiers on radiators. No container for the bar of soap. No espresso machine for breakfast. I hope the owner would solve them in a very short time as they are very cheap. I really recommend this place and if you have time you can visit the olive oil production close to the residence. Beautiful garden inside the property with ducks and goldfishes. I'll back again.

  I now know a Relais is not a hotel.....

  We stayed here in May (2014) so we could watch the Mille Miglia pass through Viterbo the next day. GPS took us right to the door in the ancient Borgo, but it's a bit tight in a Freelander. We chose this place (through Booking.com) because it looked a good option to stay with our dog, and from that aspect it was a good choice with the large gardens available. Room was fine, albeit a tad small, staff were friendly and the overall location good for ambling round the old town. May is obviously quiet in Viterbo! No doubt in the summer months the garden comes into it's own as a place to sit out and relax, but in the quiet month of May, with the pool not yet filled and no residents lounge or bar as such, the atmosphere was lacking. The main disappointment was a very poor breakfast.

  Not fantastic

  Our expectations were not high as we had read the reviews on here, but we knew that the gardens were a redeeming feature and they were, infact, quite lovely.The entire structure could do with a revamp, it is old and tired and the rooms are dark and gloomy,with curtains that need replacing.However the bed linen was clean and the towels too.No, it was not the best,but neither the worst, and the quirky, Polish manager Cristina, was friendly and helpful,if not somewhat lunatic.For one night it was fine but we would not return,if not just for a day visit to the gardens, which was the best feature.It has potential to be a pearl but for lack of finances or imagination they prefer to undervalue the wonderful location and make it a passable experience instead of a memorable one.The feeling is of having been plunged into a scene from Game of Thrones with all the gloominess of that epoca and with the same amenities and decor.Dark and Gloomy.What a shame.

  Medieval delight

  This cozy apartment complex will take you on a step back in time to the 1200's. The charming decor is all part of the journey. The cobblestone streets lead you to many adventures both visual and culinary. They have many different configurations of rooms and each one is more charming than the next. It's worth several visits, especially in the winter and summer when there are large holiday festivals.

  Lovely guesthouse in the heart of the walled town

  Fantastic old medieval building with comfortable individual apartments and a special private garden. Good breakfast and the staff are exceptionally friendly. Conveniently located to explore this hidden gem of a town. Highly recommended.
