  The wine is excellent

  I really wanted to love this place but it didnt quite live up to my expectations. The old train station which has been converted to a restaurant and hotel has a lot of charm. The hotel rooms are spacious and nice although the mattresses could be a bit more comfortable in my opinion. She it comes to the restaurant, most of the food comes from the owners farm which I like. The majority of the dishes are pork, I chose the duck breast which was nice but not great. Guess I should have gone with the pork they are known for... Drinks: my evening got off to a bad start as the glass of champagne I ordered was flat but the wine definitely made up for it. They produce excellent wine and are among the top 100 wine makers in Germany. I especially enjoyed the Bio Pinot Noir (Spätburgunder in German)

  wow wow wow wow wow

  Well after 10 weeks of trying every guest house in the Baden Wurttemberg area I have finally found the pearl in the crown! The location is so quirky - right on the train line. The hotel so well sound proofed you wouldn't know. It wasn't until I opened the blinds in the morning I realised (I arrived at midnight) how close it was! On arriving late - that was no problem, the hotel staff left a key out for me in an agreed "safe" place. It was great and worked well. The rooms are clean and comfortable - nice toiletries, and the very welcome addition of a bottle of their own winery wine. The staff are so helpful and make you feel like you're a personal guest of the family rather than a paying guest. The food is great. A huge breakfast, followed by a small but perfectly formed evening menu. Great location for the motorways and local area.

  If only more train stations in the countryside were like this ...

  Converted train station, dating back to the 1860s. Outside you can still board a light-rail (S-Bahn) to the neighboring towns whilst the "big trains" no longer stop in Bretzfeld. Inside you'll find a carefully-converted historical building with simple, but comfortable guest rooms in a really pleasant atmosphere. Very good local food, remarkably good locally-grown wines which deservedly have won several awards. Friendly service.

  Excellent wine

  This small hotel exeeds expectations and worth price. Breakfast was fine and trains do not disturb the stay. Room was spacious (small bathroom). Everything clean and fresh. Wine bottle as a gift was nice.

  Still lovely

  I haven't stayed here since October last year so it was nice to be back. The rooms are still comfortable and very clean. The food was excellent as always, both breakfast and dinner. The restaurant has a limited menu on a Monday but still good. The breakfast is good also.
