Totally disappointedThe hotel is well located in Fort Kochi, and this was the major reason of my choice beside the brand Treebo. Staff were in general nice. But I wish I had read guest reviews before my booking. I came across numerous problems: 1) I made a confirmed booking through a popular booking website. There was only one payment option: pay at hotel. However, a few days before the planned stay, I received an email directly from Treebo asking me to make a partial payment, otherwise the booking would be cancelled. I clicked at the payment link provided, but their online payment did not accept foreign credit cards. I had to call the hotline to make an arrangement. The hotel is definitely targeted at foreign tourists, since at the hotel, there was a note saying that local credit cards are not accepted. So why does the online payment link reject foreign credit cards? 2) At the hotel, the reception was not sufficiently welcoming. I paid for the whole stay with my credit card and asked for a card transaction receipt. They explained that they had gone paperless, and showed me a snapshot of the receipt sent from their bank to their account. I took a look but could not identify the merchant information (i.e. who charged me and the merchant reference number). The manager wrote a hotel receipt to provide payment proof. However, he made a mistake in the paid amount which I brought to his attention. Maybe he did not like his mistake being pointed out. And he did not like me insisting on getting a credit card transaction receipt with full information clearly shown. After some discussion, I stopped insisting (as he seemed not really listen to customer's complaint, even though he repeatedly said that he tried to be helpful). As soon as I turned around to follow the bellboy to my room, he said "this is ridiculous". It was said loud enough and meant to be heard. 3) Room cleanliness seemed ok. But the towels were old, and there were stains on the bed sheets. Very unappealing. 4) The website where I made my booking say the hotel offers yoga and cooking classes. The description led me to expect a hotel focused on wellness for the guests. One of the staff told me that he was not aware of any such classes. 5) Instead of wellness, noise can be heard till after midnight: there is a restaurant on the 3rd floor which is turned into a chillout shisha bar in the evening. I could hear wooden chairs being moved, knives being dropped on the floor, music, people talking, etc. Every night. Why are they so eager to let restaurant guests (including outsiders) chill out, but ignore the basic need of hotel guests (mainly middle-aged or senior) who want a good night sleep? 6) 2 incidents show poor processes and insufficient support to staff to do their job. One afternoon, I went back to the hotel. At the staircase, a hotel personnel gave me a restaurant menu. I told him I was not interested. He said it was for the room and that he had knocked a few times trying to enter my room to put it there. He asked me to bring it to my room. I told him that he could have given it to the housekeeping staff who should have the room keys. The next morning, as I was walking down the staircase, one of the housekeeping personnel asked me to open my room so that they could do the cleaning. I said that they should have the keys (my room had been cleaned the previous day during my absence), and I told them I would not go upstair to open the room for them. They talked to each other and decided that they had to get the duplicate key from their manager. These 2 incidents suggest a lack of management and support on how things should be done without disturbing the guests. 7) Breakfast was not served before 8:30. I ordered some toasts; they were soggy and barely browned. I asked them to give me some proper ones. The second lot was slightly more browned, but still heavy and soggy. It seemed that they don't even have an electric toaster in the kitchen. - - - - - - - - - One positive comment was that on the day I left, the manager was helpful in arranging a car on a local mobile app and followed through till I got on the car. After all these experiences, I checked out Treeboo website. Among the 12 hotels in and around Kochi, this Treebo Bright Heritage has the lowest TripAdvisor score: 3.5/5; all other Treebo hotels score 4 to 5. No wonder.

Absolute value for moneyGreat place to stay , has a rooftop restaurant. Great service. Good vibe and sheesha. We were surprised for the price we paid we stayed here for two nights and were super comfortable. Two floors no lift, might be tough for older people. But if you are young and ready for travel .this is one of the good places with the right amenities.

CHEAP HOTEL FOR QUICK STAYSmall hotel located near beach in Fort kochi with minimal amenities, average hygiene, and average food. Go there only if you have budget constraints or like us, as we used it as a quick stopover for one night only. the amazing low price made up for the limited service, though we got to eat a very tasteful Kerala breakfast in form of uppam an aloo bhujia as complimentary.
