  Beautiful hotel!

  We went there for 2 nights and wished we stayed 3Nights! We stayed in the Almirante bungalow, decoration is lovely,bed extremely comfortable, loved the bathroom. The building /architecture of the bungalows and the vegetation around ensures a more fresh temperature than the rest of the area. All blend into nature, with the most beautiful plants all around. FOOD! Amazing, local ingredientes, typical plates and flavors - done in the most colourful way. Delicious & colorful. Breakfast, fantastic too. Staff, charming and helpful. Location, beach infront is beautiful, stretches for miles, few to no people... lovely. Recommendation: go by boat! The roads to get there are terrible (same for the drive to Barra Grande).

  If you are lucky enough to be able to get to the Marau Peninsula, stay here!

  Butterfly House is a beautiful place on a beautiful beach on a beautiful peninsula! Individual bungalows are probably better suited to couples than friends travelling together, charmingly decorated and well equipped. We were here off-peak, so v personal service and the staff were lovely. At this time of year Portuguese was necessary, however owner Chloe is Anglophone so if you dont have a Portuguese speaker Id suggest getting in touch with Butterfly House before booking to see if there will be English speaker(s) there when you want to visit. You also need to know that the last 30 km on the peninsula are a potholed orange dirt road - yes hire cars bounce but consider a 4x4. Hire a quad bike from Butterfly House to explore, its unmissable, however dont come back in the dark on the « main » road as the potholes are even worse on quad bike than in a car (3 caipirinhas each to recover). In short - unmissable and highly recommended :)

  Retreat inParadise

  We spent 11days at this gem. We were received by Elio, one of the hosts with kindness and professionalism that made the rough road ( it can be a bit challenging to get there) totally worth traveling. The place is absolutely gorgeous and comfortable. Staff completely pampered us ( Elio and Michelle supervised and made sure we always had what we needed. The rooms were cleaned with love by Cristina and her helper, Laryssa, the guys and gals were available to serve us with smiles and positive attitude and Dadas food was the best!!! Yes. They made us feel at home and well cared for. The only problem was that we didnt want to leave.

  Worse is impossible. Im here for 4 hours only

  Arrived from São Paulo. Its hot here. Rooms air conditioning not working. Ok that can happen but they knew about it because if you have a hotel in Bahia water and air conditioning are same priority. You need to pay attention. Then they told us we could spend one night in another room. But while we were having dinner they used the room that we would use for a massage. The manager went to my table and told us they were preparing the room for us but it was a lie, they were trying to get some time to have the massage finished. They preferred to use the room to gain some extra money for a massage than to let us to occupy a workin room. So you pay enough for a room, its not working and instead of solving the error they prefer to get extra $ and lie to you. Good lucky if you come to this hotel.

  Fantastic

  The hotel is fantastic. Very intimate with few bungalows which guaranteed exclusivity in service and the possibility to enjoy everything that the place offers. Every minimally thought-out detail guaranteed total integration with nature, making it a refreshing experience, a surrender of body and soul. The staff is super helpful. Lewis asked all the time if everything was right, guiding us even on the precautions when driving on the road. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. The place is quite isolated, however we loved having the whole beach just for us :) The access is not very easy, but anyone who decides to visit Marau suffers from road conditions regardless of the hotel they stay at. As we were driving, we managed to go to Barra Grande and enjoyed the sunset at Ponta do Muta (marvelous). Dona Nilda's food is very good. Homemade seasoning without exaggerating on Dende oil. Special recommendation for the whole fish, a delight. The dogs Filomena and Cocada are separate attractions, so cute! A place to relax and enjoy nature. we will certainly be back!
