  Poorly Managed Establishment, Improvements Needed

  This was our honeymoon trip to the Maldives. Weve reserved Cerulean View Residence on Air Bnb site based on the pictures and description despite the fact that the residence had no reviews (big mistake). They were very nice and prompt in their answers to our questions and inquiries prior to arrival. Since this was our honeymoon they were kind enough to provide us with a complimentary one way air plane transportation from Male to their island of Hanimaaghoo. We were met by their representatives in Male airport who assisted us with checking in to our flight to Hanimaaghoo and the luggage transfer. Upon our initial arrival to the residence everything was great we were greeted at the door by the hosting team who made us flower necklaces and provided a very warm welcome to the residence. They kept taking endless pictures of us but we decided not to emphasize this much and thought this may be due to their culture or simply wanting to post the pictures to the sites advertising their residence. The residence itself and the room is very nice, however theres a great deal of construction going on all around the building and you will see the view of construction site when you go in/out of your room. The room itself is nice, clean and organized. The same as shown on photos. After we refreshed, we went to have lunch. Theres a café room located on the second floor, the same floor where our room was. The room is very nice, quiet and they play a nice calming music while you dine there. The view from the room is beautiful. However the lady kept taking pictures of us even when we were eating. We felt awkward to say the least. Their cook (forgot his name) is simply great. Everything hes made for us was very fresh and delicious. The menu is customizable. You can request what you want (based on the options provided) for lunch and dinner and they will accommodate that request. Breakfast, however is the same every day (not a complaint from our end since its so delicious and fresh we were more than happy to have it over and over again). However theres a big BUT that to me (and I expect to most of the tourists like us) overwrites the advantages mentioned above the condition of the beach. It is in beyond terrible condition, which is extremely unfortunate. I have not seen dirtier beach in my life traveling anywhere and here we are in Maldives, where we go to find some of the cleanest beaches in the world. We were in a complete shock to say the least. Dirt, empty bottles, candy wraps, endless trash everywhere. I took a few pictures to support this review please see attached. The beach does not belong to them it is a public beach and the public does not treat it with respect. Additionally, the area around is highly industrial with a lot of construction work going on. After raising our concern to their management we were promised that the beach will be cleaned, however there was no improvement and to clean everything this is going to take a crew of several employees and a consistent daily effort. I do not foresee any improvement until they make an effort to close out the beach and make it private. Something else you should keep in mind you will not be able to sunbathe and/or swim at the beach in your swimsuit no matter how open or closed it is. They tell you that you have to wear clothes to swim, like shorts/t-shirt. Even though I highly respect traditions of the places I go to, this rule just kinda defeats the purpose of going to the beach/get suntan. Again here, after my husband spoke with the manager about this mater they allowed me to swim in my swimsuit (which was very conservative btw), however anyone who passed by (men, women, children) were staring at me as I was committing a crime. Needless to say that made me extremely uncomfortable. Another downside is that theres nothing to do there after dark. We were the only guests there and therere no after dinner activities. Not sure how I was able to survive there for 2 days, but for the remainder of our trip we went to stay at the Barefoot Eco resort, which is only 10 minutes walk from their residence and is beyond gorgeous in every sense and very affordable. Thank God for that otherwise I have no idea what wed have to do in order to be able to enjoy our honeymoon in Maldives. Wed probably have to travel to a different island which would involve a significant cost on top of the thousands weve already paid. To sum it up everyone is very nice and accommodating at the Cerulean View Residence and they try hard to take a good care of you, however theres a lot of improvements have to be done in the way they manage business in order to be able to accommodate guests who come from different places around the world and from different cultures. If you come to the Maldives to see a beautiful, clean beach, where you can lay out on and swim in your bathing suite this is not a place for you by any means. If you go to stay elsewhere like we did, they will not refund you money for the unused days.

  Wonderful relaxing days at Cerulean View

  We stayed 6 nights at Cerulean view. It's a new Guesthouse with modern and attractively furnished bath, rooms and lobby, located directly at the public Beach of Hanimaadoo. Aircon works very silent. Special thanks to the - anytime - friendly and helpful stuff, trying to fulfill you every wish. The inexpensive dinner was fresh cooked and very tasteful. Water, Coffe, Tea for free. On the public Beach, wearing Bikini was not allowed, so they take us to a private white sandy Beach, surrounded from palmtrees and mangroves, only a 5 minute walk away from Hotel. Every day they arranged there two sunbed, umbrella, small table and a free bottle of water, where we could stay the whole day for us all alone. All in all we would like to recommend this hotel.   Eco friendly guest house

  On a business trip to Hanimaadhoo a friend had recommended Cerulean view guest house. We were not disappointed. It was more than we expected. We were greeted with refreshing towels and offered fresh coconuts. Even though past dinner time, food was prepared for us. Room is spacious, clean and the bathroom has a walk in shower. All amenities were provided for which is unexpected for a guest house. The decor and furnishings are made well using local materials and is very organic and earthy. Free wifi is available throughout the property. Food is excellent and so is the service. Staff are very courteous and polite. Beach is just across the street. A cosy corner in the garden has a swing where I could relax with a cup of coffee. Will definitely choose to stay here on the next trip

  Absolutely wonderful service provided by the cvr team. Memorable moments was created by the team. Friendly and helpful team. Food and accomadation was far beyond expectation. Luxurious rooms and delicious food. Always wish to visit again. Unforgettable place and stay.

  Retreat

  We just came back yesterday from Cerulean View Residence. We would like to thank the full team (specially Chef Muthalab) at Cerulean for having allowed us to enjoy such an incredible stay. Throughout our stay we were blown out not only by the magnificent property but also and mainly by the amazing level of service delivered there: we couldn' t have expected such a delight.
