  Was unable to check in - poor customer service

  This building was HORRIBLE to find. There is no sign besides the name on the buzzer and when we arrived at the earliest check in time (2pm), no one answered the buzzer at all. We finally were let into the building by someone using another business (still no one from Ciauru Designs) and tried to find the B&B. After some time, we found it, but the door to the office (reception?) was locked with no lights on. We buzzed and waited at this office door for about 15 minutes before going down to the lobby of the main building. After waiting an hour for someone to help us, there was still not a single person from the B&B. We had to leave and book another hotel, and refused to refund because they said they attempted to contact us - no cell phone available out of country. When a B&B markets itself to foreigners, there should be an understanding that someone needs to greet their customers. Customer service was appalling (read: completely missing) and I would recommend AGAINST this hotel whenever possible. Overall assessment: Creepy, far from train station, on beach but creepy, pass if possible

  Excellent service and view

  Hosts very attentive and welcoming. Keen to help out with bus timetables et etc. Killer view from shared lounge/dining area across the strait to the hills of Calabria. Great breakfast incl continental and Sicilian style. Shared balcony a great spot to sit with a beer in the afternoon watching the boats. Beach across the road is a great place to cool off (even has sand!), and locals say even better beaches are on offer a few minutes by bus.

  Wonderful stay

  The b&b Ciauru Design offers a really nice stay in the harbour of Messina. The rooms are modern, everything is new inside them and the cleanliness is astonishing. It would be really difficult to find a room as clean as this one. Besides that, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast absolutely delicious. The only drawback is lack of parking spaces. Nevertheless I was quite fortunate, as I managed to park my car in one of the surrounding streets. Hopefully you will be as lucky as me. Don't be scared of the old elevators and the style of the building. Ciauru Design has really beautiful rooms, you definitely won't be disappointed. The photo published was the only one, I had. It was definitely one of the most comfortable stays I experienced recently

  Nice stay

  Nice setting: the hotel is right in front of the seashore. It has a blacony that offers nice views of the mainland of Italy. There's also a tram stop at 20m so you can get a tram ride of about 10min to go to the centre. Room: the room is indeed 'Design', we were quite impressed by the nice lights. Staff: Very friendly during check-in, did not see anyone after that, but that didn't really bother us. Communication before checking in was great too (Whatsapp). Breakfast: Was the only thing we were a bit disappointed about and why I only gave 4/5. There was not a lot of choice and we were missing a little piece of bread. But don't understand me wrong, it was definitely not bad, I'm just the bread and cheese/jam in the morning kinda person.

  Satisfaction

  I've been in this place just for a night. The first thing made me happy it's been a very clean location but above the view coz is unic and beautiful specially when you take a seat outside to enjoy a magical breakfast... I suggest to all of you... I don't need to explain anymore... Just watch the pics. Take care...
