  really good value

  had a really lovely stay clean and tidy room and hotel has been refurbished dont listen to bad reviews the hotel has changed cheap cheerful and close to everything air on works great quiet hotel we are looking to stay here again in a few weeks times

  If you can afford an other place then dont go there!

  Costa Maya Bodrum. The Booking.com score of 9.1 is artificially overstated! Before our departure, the hotel manager begged us to put 10 (!). Since the hotel weakly pulls on 6, and we did not want to spoil the experience of our holiday, we promised to leave a review later (and delicately "forget")), however, the manager did not lag behind and asked to do it on the spot, in front of her. Okay, we thought to put 8, however, the manager didn't like it - Please, 10 for me. My boyfriend is a well-mannered person, not inclined to conflicts, did as she asked, than later he was very unhappy and why I am now writing this review. Below is a list of the disadvantages of why the hotel deserves 6: 1. The staff does not speak English, even at the reception it is difficult to communicate 2. At first impression the rooms are fine, they are generally clean, but the bathroom is definitely not properly cleaned. In the shower there was a hair tie from the previous customers, an unclean shower floor (I couldnt to take a shower barefoot) , a persistent smell of dampness and a dirty toilet (!). The water stopped periodically especially in the evening. Sometimes we got tattered towels. There is no blanket, instead of a blanket there is a thin waffle blanket. The air conditioner works so noisy that it seems like you are sleeping on the airstrips and without AC it is very stuffy to sleep. 3. Loud music by the pool, starting from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm, you won't be able to sleep longer in this hotel 4. Absolutely tasteless food! We tried to have lunch there twice and it was horrible each time. The breakfast that is a separate topic. From 7:00 to 10:00, for 2 weeks, the same assortment: hard-boiled eggs, 2 types of fried sausages, 2-3 types of cheese, olives, cucumbers, tomatoes, rucolla, bread and tea / coffee to drink impossible. No fruits at all, no milk, no yogurt. 5. WiFi only works well at the pool bar. In the room, catching a net is obtained from time to time. In fairness, we note the obvious advantages: 1. Low price 2. Good location in the city center. Within walking distance of the port, beach, bazaar, museum of underwater architecture, the mausoleum of Halicarnassus and many restaurants.

  Dont be fooled

  Booking.com rated this place so highly and we thought it would be a great place for a last minute stay overnight in Bodrum so we could experience the city properly (were staying 30mins up the coast). This is the only hotel Ive ever checked in and checked out of within an hour. When we arrived it was a bit of a mission to check in (language was a big challenge) but the lady that showed us our room (Seda?) was lovely and even turned the AC on before we arrived. Thats where the good ended though. The bathroom was dirty, the wardrobe had rubbish in it, there was something that looked like a plaster on the floor by the bed and the pool area looked very run down. No cushions for the sun loungers or towels provided, as the Booking.com pics might suggest. We felt so uncomfortable even though we sat by the pool to try and relax that we got up and left and booked another place. Location wise its ok, but quite a bit removed from the busy streets of central Bodrum and theres no bars or restaurants in the immediate area that we could see. Then again, we left in a hurry. I hate to leave a bad review of a place, but I feel if you go here you should know what to expect and its certainly not what the pictures show you.

  It was a very bad experience. No hygiene rules, crews do not use masks, rooms were not clean. rooms were not cleaned during our stay. We went to another hotel and we are happier. I recommend you do not choose this hotel.

  Great location

  We were there on the very last days before the hotel shut down at the end of October, so some of these comments may not be fair as a result. The pool had been closed and was looking pretty dreary. Our room was rather on the spartan side, which was fine, except that the awful design of the shower was such that the drain was the highest point in the stall, resulting in a mini-flood after each shower, and our feet being dunked in dirty water (something that makes me cringe). Also, the flush system broke down on us - thankfully, a call to reception had the matter addressed withing half a day. The best feature of this hotel is its location, which is just a short walk from the harbourfront with its wealth of restaurants. This, however, makes it a bit difficult of access, as one has to go through a maze of very very narrow streets to get there. Since we arrived late at night, the darkness prevented us to notice some signs that may have been there. We parked a good 10 minutes away, in a parking lot staffed by a wonderful man willing to walk us to the hotel. Although the hotel offers parking, we left our car where it was for the duration of our stay. So, all in all, Costa Maya is a fair and clean budget hotel with a splendid location.
