  Pleasantly surprised

  I would suggest Dar Ya to anyone visiting Tunis. Its close to shopping and food in the old and new sections of the city. The rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of room. The spread of food for breakfast was delicious. From citrus to yogurt to baked goods to eggs to bread and its many toppings. And when we arranged to eat dinner there on 2 nights I was wowed yet again with traditional dishes that were prepared in house by an amazing chef! And the people were so welcoming. We enjoyed their hospitality and company each day. Thank you Dar Ya for making our trip unforgettable.

  very good for a hostle

  we stayed at dar ya for 3 nights and it was really good. the room was clean and comfortable. there was a kitchen for cooking if anybody want. hot shower and clean toilets. and they were really really kind.

  Delightful

  Day Ya has a fantastic location which felt reasonably safe (important in the Medina) though women might be wary of walking around along at night- though this applies all over Tunis really. Lovely tiles and courtyard- look at the pictures, exellent staff who speak good English and are very helpful and genuinely nice. There is a great rooftop and a guest kitchen which is helpful to have (though not well equipped or used. It is a hostel though, so its basic. The rooms are around a coatyard so it can get noisy- my friend had a crying baby in room next door which made it hard to sleep. Internet is patchy. And weirdly in such a coffee drinking country the breakfast (otherwise good) had instant coffee which is frustrating....I hate instant coffee! But the real deal is that it is the only cheap hotel in the Medina, the local area is friendly and untouristy, and if you stay there you are immersed in real old Tunis which is worth a lot in my book.

  Lo mejor es la ubicación. Los aseos son compartidos. Wifi muy flojo. Desayuno basico. El principal problema que tiene es el ruido que provocan el resto de huéspedes pues es un patio cerrado. También hacía frio en el patio para desayunar o sentarse en las mesas....El precio muy ajustado. El transfer funcionó bin.

  Well located once you find it

  This hostel offers a clean friendly safe place to stay within the Medina. Common areas are pleasant with local charm & old pictures of Tunis. Receptions staff is willing to assist with planning, & information. Breakfast buffet is not large but offers a variety. They also offer a 3 day/ 2 night trip to the South that is well priced and paced. I booked upon arrival (not sure in season if this would work) and left 2 days later. Enjoy!
