    Great location

Great hotel with views over the Moselle Valley. This is the second time we have stayed here. The rooms are basic but very comfortable. The restaurant offers a good choice of food overlooking the vinyards & the river. It is a pity that the hotel is closing by the end of the year.

Wish the restaurant had been open!

We stayed here overnight on our way back to the Channel Tunnel to return home. Following on from our visit to Montreux when we didn't realise there was a jazz festival on we arrived here not knowing that the Tour de France was coming through Luxembourg! We used to stay in Luxembourg a lot in the past but the hotel we stayed in has had a change of owners and apparently standards have dropped so we thought we'd try this one. Greeted by a lovely friendly lady on reception but looking forward to a lovely meal and a glass of Auxerrois as we looked over the Moselle and were disappointed when she informed us that the restaurant was closed on a Monday (even though she'd informed us that they were full due to the T de F!) So we went to one of our old haunts, the Co-operative Caves in Wormeldange. The accommodation at the Hotel des Vignes is rather old fashioned with orange brushed bri-nylon sheets, which I didn't know still existed! Lovely view from the room though with a small sun lounge attached. We had an early breakfast which is all laid out as a buffet and a gentleman who was possibly also the night porter came in to offer coffee etc. So I don't think this will be our new hotel of choice for Luxembourg, we'll just have to keep looking!

Talk About A Room With A View!

My husband and I booked our room based on Internet research, and were rewarded with a spacious room including table, mini-fridge and very comfortable sleeping accommodations. Best of all, and the highlight of our stay, was the glassed-in terrace with patio furniture and a sweeping view of vineyards, Remich, the Moselle River, and Germany below. We slid open our terrace door to the world, sat back in our patio chairs and didn't move for a couple of hours. For avid hikers like us, the walk downhill to the town was easily do-able and we had a blast being part of the laid-back Sunday throng on the riverfront. Free, on-site hotel parking was an added bonus.

Enjoying fine French kitchen in a traditional restaurant

If you are looking for a fine traditional kitchen, but still affordable, this restaurant would be a good choice. Beside the normal card, it has very nice full meal offers (starter, main course and dessert), available with or without a selected glass of wine. It might not be the most fanciest place, but considering the good food and welcoming staff, personally I don't care. The only sad thing is the final door closing end of November 2017.
