  Enjoyed our stay

  9 nights in the Efir 1 apartments . Loved the space in comparison to a hotel room . Booked a studio and had a lovely big sitting room with kitchen and 4 seater table , fridge ,kettle and toaster and a separate bedroom with lots of storage space .. 1 big balcony and a smaller one to the side . Air conditioning worked a treat and while not in the bedroom we just left the doors open at night . Nice pool bar. Smallish pool but we generally found sunbeds . Total quietness at night with security . Easy access to beach . Bus stop right outside . Would definitely return We stayed in block A

  Very disappointing

  Me, my friend and my 2 daughters arrived early hours tues morning where we were dropped at the side of the road without any directions of where to check in. When we did check in we was told to pay either 200 lev or £100 deposit which we did know about but thought we would be able to pay by card only to be told cash only. Later we found out that its only Tui customers that have to pay a deposit too. We were given forms to fill in and sign, one was an inventory for all items in our room with a list of prices If damaged before we had even got our key and been able to look in our room first. At first the room seemed fine and was nice and clean the only thing we saw that was wrong was a mark on the bathroom door which had been filled in and varnished over so we didnt feel the need to report it as it had already been repaired. 2 days before we were due to leave we was told we had a charge of £250 (500 lev) on our room due to a door being damaged that the maid had reported. We hadnt damaged anything so refused to pay. The manager even said that we had repaired the damage ourselves and covered it up with makeup (what a joke!!!!). The day we checked out they wouldnt give us our deposit back and because we refused to pay a further £150 they called the police who told us if we didnt pay up then we wouldnt be flying home. Tui customers and anyone else thinking of going to this hotel please avoid as it is all a scam!!! It was our first time in Bulgaria and was enjoying our holiday up until the last 2 days which were totally spoilt. To be treated the way we were was disgraceful it was very upsetting and stressful. We would return to Bulgaria again but definitely not to this hotel!!!!!

  Not as bad as people make out

  First of all the negatives. Sometimes front desk can be quite rude when you have a problem they dont tend to deal with problems very well. Second the maids doesnt always do a good job at tidying the rooms. And third the deposit you have to pay when you check in doesnt really seem fair and having a sheet in your room just incase things get broken surely you should be able to keep your own money and pay only when things do get broken. The positives is its far enough away from the strip but not too far. Shops are easy to get to. Transport right outside for the bus. Taxis and free shuttle bus. Great little bar around the corner called friends great for grabbing a bite to eat would definitely recommend. The woman behind the bar she was so great with our whole group even made us our own little cocktails very caring lady who works really hard. Lovely pool area pool was more than big enough and we travelled as a group of 10 people. Salt water pool wasnt a issue at all. Could always find a sun lounger. Was so lucky to get along with other guests at the hotel too which was a huge bonus to the trip. The family rooms are a amazing size. Would we visit this hotel again... yes already planning visit number 2 to this hotel

  A great base !

  Just come back from here. I could not fault it. If you are looking for a big complex with entertainment and lots of bars etc, then this is not for you. The staff really make this place, yes it's an apartment block with a pool and that is about it. If coming here, make your first stop to the pool bar. If during the day, say hi to Georgina. If after 5ish, then say hi to Peter! We spent many an eve just chatting to Peter about anything from UK politics (Boris had just got in whilst we were away!) To general home life. A simple but tasty daytime snack menu is available as well as poolside drinks all day. A great central location a few minutes walk from the beach, a few local restaurants next to the apartments as well as a 24hr supermarket below.

  Not so bad

  1. Easy check in. 2. 24hour supermarket attached to complex. 3. £100 (200lev) cash refundable deposit required from all. Great apartment and after reading reviews I took pics and went straight to reception to report anything that I thought I may get charged for needless to say she documented it and I had a full refund at the end (room needs to be checked before issuing refund) vacate at 12pm but kept room for longer as we had 8pm pick up 5 lev per hour. Basic, clean and great location as it's a short stroll to the beach and flower street which is the main area of pubs and clubs so if you want a bit of a quieter holiday you have the best of both. Great value for money and doesnt deserve all the negative.
