    Impressions

We went there last year. We were in the hotel part. The beach was far from our room. We were three people, two in the bedroom, and one on the couch. In the bedroom there wasn't a TV. Only bed and a wardrobe. The kitchen part was ok. But the staff do not cleaned the apartment everyday. Once they had put old and torn bedsheets. I don't think I would return back.

    Our Happy Place

We have lived in Bulgaria 17 months and discovered Garden of Eden right away (May 2019). We have returned for several long weekend get-aways (five total) and just enjoyed a week long vacation there. The entire complex is first rate, we love the beach, and are grateful for the beautiful landscaping which accompanies the seven pools. We have stayed in the hotel, two different studios, and two different one bedroom apartments. Each was clean, well-equipped and very comfortable. All three restaurants and the beach bar/restaurant serve delicious food and drink with excellent service.

If you are looking for a quiet place, close to the beach, this is the one! :)

The restaurants The food there is DELICIOUS, especially at the Fish & Grill restaurant (located on the beach). Valentino was the perfect waiter, he is cheerful, joyful and he is very friendly. He made our holiday 10 times better with his positive attitude. Every morning we would drink our coffee there just so we can start our day with joy. The Italian restaurant has great pizza and tiramisu, but the pasta is tasteless. If you want great food, you can go to Sunny Beach by bus and go to Euphoria - amazing carbonara and amazing food as well! The bus price is 1.5 leva per person to Sunny Beach and 2 leva per person to Nessebar. There are 2 busses, 5 and 8. There is also another restaurant, Paradiso, which is the hotel's restaurant and here you can have breakfast. The food here was ok. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, all the bars and cafes were closed inside the complex, except the bar from the main pool, where Paradiso is located. For two people, we spent around 50-60 leva at each meal: food + drinks. The pools There are 8 pools and all of them are amazing! The water is not too cold and you can start swimming at 9 AM. We spent almost every afternoon at the pool. Even if the complex is the last one from Sveti Vlas, the silence and tranquility are priceless. Every night we enjoyed staying on the balcony, just watching the stars and talk. It was peaceful. This complex is suitable for families, as they will surely enjoy the quiet. Sveti Vlas - Nessebar by boat Depending on the weather on the sea, you can go to Nessebar by boat. It leaves Sveti Vlas at 10:40 and returns at 14:30. The price was 15 leva one way and 25 leva two ways per person. It was a very nice experience, we arrived in Nessebar in 30 minutes, but when we returned, we reached Sveti Vlas in 1h - there is a detour to Elenite. The rooms We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment with a sea view, located near the main road, on the top floor. The reception I know people who work at the front-desk meet different types of people, but looking down on us won't create a good first impression. Location Garden of Eden is literally the last complex from Sveti Vlas before Elenite. There is not much to do unless you want to stay at the beach or the pool all day and eat every day there. The bus station is located 5-10 minutes away from the main entrance and the buses are pretty often - every 20 minutes. So if you want to go to Sunny Beach or Nessebar, you can by bus. The complex is located on a hill, but they have 2 elevators that will easily take you to "floor 5" - where the reception is. So depending on your luck, you might get close to the beach or close to the main road (floor 5). The supermarket There is also a little store inside the complex. Sadly, it is open only until 20:00 and it doesn't have too many things you can buy. The entrances Even though there are a lot of alternative gates you can use to exit the complex, all of them, except the one at the supermarket, are closed. It would be very nice if they would open all the gates so tourists won't have to go to the main entrance every time they want to enter the complex. The beach I don't know if this is on the owners/carers of the beach, but at the bottom of the sea, there was a lot of seaweed. It could have been cleaner. The beach is small, I can't even imagine how people are staying there when the complex is full.

Definitely not 4 or 5 stars!!!

The entire complex is nice but it is far from 4-5 stars. The rooms are large and comfortable, however some bedsheets were damaged and the towels were dirty. The bathrooms have no glass on the bathtubs so everything gets wet and the multiple ac units are noisy and on the balcony so all drips water on there. The tables and chairs on the balcony are cheep and plastic... all of which is nor 4 star hotel. Usually they will put a central ac and better seats or no pillows with holes. The inside of the flats were very good otherwise and the furniture is good. Place is full of pools and good for the kids to go around, but the restaurants are not great. The worst thing was the service and the peoples way of talking to us on the reception and in the restaurants. We were 3 couples one with a kid and a baby.

The good, the bad and the miserable

We stayed bed and breakfast for 11 nights with 7 other family members with an age range of 3 to 75 in 2 hotel rooms and 1 apartment. It was a holiday of ups and downs. Positives : Beautiful, well maintained gardens. Lovely pool areas with plenty of sunbeds and parasols although we were told that the pools would get much busier later in the season. The beach is lovely. There are sunbeds (30 lev for 2 beds and a parasol), a beach bar and some water sports. The boat trip to Nessebar is worth doing although when we went to use it the second time at 7.00pm it did not turn up. This is possibly because it was early in the season but there was no mention of this on the advertising boards. We were not the only family group waiting. The shop was fairly well stocked and reasonably priced. The aircon in the room was good. Negatives : The hotel is a bit isolated. The marina is lovely but the walk along the seashore is very steep in places. The walk along the main road to Sveti Vlas is mostly flat and takes about 20 mins but it is hard work in the heat. The buses to Sunny Beach and Nessebar are cheap but they get very packed and sometimes you have to fight to get off and on. Even harder when you have a buggy. Some of the staff were lovely but others were quite rude and sometimes we felt more like an inconvenience than a guest. The rooms were not cleaned properly. The bath in my daughter's room was only cleaned once during our stay so she did it herself. Our shower cubicle leaked very badly. We reported it, along with a broken towel rail on the second day and again a few days later to the Jet 2 rep but they never got fixed. After every shower we had to mop up pints of water from the floor with the bath mat. Beware when booking the hotel's taxi. 5My granddaughter booked a return trip to Sunny Beach and ended up waiting 40 minutes with her 2 young children to be picked up for the return trip. When the boat failed to turn up for our trip to Nessebar, we ordered a taxi. It took the young man on reception a long time on the computer to sort it and he didn't give us a receipt. He reluctantly handed it over when my daughter asked for it. We realised later that we had been overcharged by about 12 lev. On our return, my daughter mentioned this to the reception staff. They gave us several reasons to justify the amount charged, none of which made sense. Eventually, when we wrote the calculation down using the price list on the reception counter, the young man took 12 lev out of his pocket and practically threw it at us, muttering that it was his money. If he had just admitted the mistake in the first place and apologised we would probably have told him to keep it but he was so rude to us, we took it. One evening, the bar was packed with a private party and it was impossible to find a seat. There was just 1 poor barman trying to serve everyone. We went to the downstairs bar where 4 staff were standing around apparently with nothing to do. At first they said the bar was closed although it was all lit up. They then said we could stay for 1 hour but there was no draft beer. We went back upstairs and ended up sitting in reception. This hotel could be wonderful but it was spoilt for us by lack of service and the attitude of some of the staff. We will not be returning.

    Rude lazy disinterested reception staff...

Just arrived back from a week with my adult daughter at this hotel. We arrived at midnight with only one young girl in reception with very little English. Not much in the way of directions to our room.. The room was was quite big but a small balcony with no views except trees and into opposite balconies..there were no towels or toilet paper in the bathroom, we had to go and ask reception, she brought one towel and some toilet paper and had to go back to get another towel. The safes in the rooms don't work...you have to use the safes at reception (which are free) where you get given a key and you have to ask one of them each time when you need to use the safe because they come with the second key. The reception staff are all young and all request or questions to them seem to be too much bother! They don't smile and some to the point of rudeness...never seen such people on reception so unhelpful or lazy before in all my travels. The cleaners only made our beds once in the whole week, and only changed the towels and a quick mop of the floor. They always wanted to do this when we came back from breakfast when you want to visit the loo and get ready for the beach..most annoying. . We were bed and breakfast which is on the ground floor...the food was OK ish but nothing to gloat about... The pools and gardens are great. Lots of pools and gardens and flowers well maintained and beautiful. The beach is lovely, the beds are for 2 plus fixed parasol for 30 levs, which is quite a lot for a week. Lovely sand but gets very hot in the sun. Water is fairly clean but can be windy causing the seaweed to come in. Eating out was between 3 restaurants 2 at the complex and one nearby. The Italian restaurant at the complex is lovely, we went there twice. The fish restaurant by the beach is also great. Close by but up a very steep path is another restaurant called Cactus. This is lovely with great food and good service but a bit more expensive. We also went to a restaurant in the town called Sianna...(not so good as its reviews)... If I ever decide to stay here again I would not stay in the hotel part due to the auful Reception staff..and to finish it off on our checkout they accused us of stealing towels and wanted payment. This is where I lost it a bit and told them to check our luggage there and then..they refused to do that and then we left. Never to return to that hotel. The complex is lovely and can be booked through many ways e.g air b & b etc as most of the appartments are privately owned.

    Fabulous holiday, few minor niggles

Group of 6 adults staying in 2x2 bedroom apartments. The air-conditioning and WI-Fi are superb! The complex is huge, but after a couple of days you can navigate this. It is spotlessly clean everywhere. The staff are very friendly and polite and helpful. We love the separate pool sections so nowhere is too busy. (Our section is Sylvia and on the doorstep of the gorgeous Italian restaurant). Sunbeds are available but do get snapped up late morning. It is very reasonably priced in the on site supermarket, which is small but has a good enough selection for us self catering. Our only niggles are in the apartments. They are vastly different to each orher. One is definitely more modern and updated with a lovely large balcony area and two walk in shower units, one en suite, large fridge freezer and wall mounted tv. The other has a rather small balcony for 3 adults, and the two air conditioning units facing each other on the balcony make it very hot to sit out, only a small freezer with fridge, and one of the shower/baths has a short curtain which isn't ideal. The apartments vary greatly in what accessories they have in terms of cutlery and crockery. (We had to swap about so we both had basics for cooking and eating). And both clothes airers are broken and not fit for purpose. But we are making do because we are really enjoying the overall experience. We didn't enjoy the fish restaurant because it was too busy for the staff available and we waited an hour between starters and mains. The food was lovely though. Loved the Italian restaurant, and the takeaway option was an added bonus. Would happily come again, but would hope the apartments could all be to the same standard.
