  Great resort

  We booked this as part of package holiday on short notice, we just wanted to escape the Covid-19 madness back in the UK. We didn't pay very much and had no idea what to expect... The resort far exceeded our expectations, the accommodation was spotlessly clean with plenty of thought applied to possible Covid infections, The accommodation is great we had the two bedroom upper apartment with a lovely outside seating area. Air conditioning was provided in the main room and mezzanine bedroom, The kitchen area was well laid out and had just enough for cooking; I managed a seafood risotto with the utensils. The pool area was clean and tidy and a lifeguard in attendance, the pool is large and deep with a separate paddle pool area for the young children. The bar was well stocked and keenly priced; on our arrival it was late (after 10pm) and the bar staff whilst not able to provide a full meal cooked up some fries and a toastie. Many thanks for that. The resort is well laid out, the apartments aren't on top of each other. The grounds were very well maintained and plenty of space to sit in the sun if you didn't fancy being by the pool. There is access to a beach, but it is just a few metres of pebbles and well guarded by a couple of swans (don't mess with the swans...). Many thanks to the lovely receptionist who allowed us access to our apartment for the whole of departure day, we had late evening flights. It was gratefully appreciated. We will definitely look to return, we had a wonderfully relaxing week.

  Great First Visit to Corfu

  Booked a seven night package through TUI for a week on Corfu staying at the Helion Resort, we chose this resort as did not want a two hour transfer and within 1 hour of landing we were at the resort. Met at gate by security guard who quickly collected a key and took us through the lush green gardens to our apartment which was on the first floor. The apartments are big enough for two but feel that for four it could be tights as only small lounge area with two chairs. All that you needed was provided including washing up liquid, sponge and scourer! Due to covid extra sheets and towels were left if you needed them. The TV had two remote controls but we could only get Greek TV so maybe instructions on how to use would be useful. The complex was kept clean and the area around the pool was great as was the pool bar, not sure why the allow glasses and bottles to be taken around the pool though as accidents do happen and plastic would have been better. Food at the the pool bar also good as were all the staff. Receptionist Madeline was very helpful and you only had to ask for something and it was delivered and left on your door step. All in all a lovely place and will be back next year we hope. Thank you.

  Family hol to Helion in gouvia

  I write this as I enjoy the last evening of our family holiday to Helion apartments in gouvia, cuddled up in my very comfortable bed! My family and I booked this last minute deal and we are so glad we had. We were greeted by the general manager Madeline who checked us in properly after we had been show to our apartment by a nice security guard. We loved our apartment which had three double rooms one on ground floor and two on mezzanine level. Beds super comfy and lots of bedding and towels for us. Domestic staff clean after guests leave as to reduce contact during covid pandemic. Lovely big terrace with table for six. Lovely to have breakfast in morning. Madeline also recommended a lovely bakery only five mins away (turn left and walk up street) called L artisan. Cheap prices for quality items. Loved everything from this shop!!!! Especially the choc donuts and filled baguettes. Also we used a supermarket 10 min walk to the right of the apartments but was a bit scary walking up there next to dual carriageway! It's a big blue sign so can't miss it. Make sure u have masks. No mask no shopping!! Well stocked. We dined out each evening but ate three times in la kantas restaurant which was amazing both in food and service. Beautiful restaurant family owned and run. Complimentary bread with gorgeous dips and Olives before main courses and complimentary ice cream while we waited on bill. Love love love this place!! Also ate in gouvio Bay cafe, mythos and romeos which was fine but food did not compare to la kantas. The service was good in each very friendly. We ate a lot at lunch in the on site cafe at the pool. It was lovely and the girl who works there tirelessly always had a smile! The pool was fit for purpose and as it was so quiet there was no issues finding loungers. The village is a bit run down but no wonder. The tourism that wee villages like this relies upon has been decimated by covid meaning most places had closed down. I would highly recommend gouvia. The bay is lovely with swans and geese as your backdrop. We don't know how lucky we are living in Britain with many other industries other than tourism to support the economy. Yes, it's been hard and many suffer hardships but I'm not sure it's to the extent in small villages like gouvia. Beautiful scenery beautiful people beautiful corfu. Love you and thanks for having us!   Great place to stay

  Rooms clean and tidy and due to the pandemic they had great system in place for Covid safety. Apartments were fully equiped for self catering. Clever systems in place to keep you safe. The off-site restaurant was good and the Greek evening good. We had a great holiday here and staff were really helpful. We would come here again

  Comfy Beds

  We booked this particular hotel as it was centrally located for exploring the island. The reviews were really good so we plumped for the Helion Resort. We were a little disappointed. The resort was close to the dual carriageway, so the walk in to town was through the carparks, past the bins, broken glass and the stray cats and along the dual carriageway. Not the nicest of strolls. The room we had was two bedrooms but there was only 2 of us. It was on the small side and would be cramped with 4. We had to put one of the chairs in front of the stairs so that we could get in the fridge. The bed was comfy though. Some of the outside space was a little tatty, the path was not suitable for suitcases with broken uneven slabs. All in all it was ok. We got a good nights sleep but there are nicer locations to be found.
