One nightWe stayed for one night to attend a concert. We found staff courteous and accommerdating. Our room was well appointed. The hotel is currently undergoing extensive renervations which does nor distract from their hospitality. We would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you.

Absolute crooksArrived to a building site, room disgusting, no way I was staying there. BE CAREFUL - paid cash and they still charged my card. When questioned, tried to blame booking.com - I'm a hotelier. Reported as fraud

Someone probably died hereIt started badly when my husband realised that Id booked somewhere in Chapeltown (Id never heard of it). I just thought a cheap, functional hotel would serve well for our trip to see A-Ha at The Arena. Sadly, this was cheap (£52) but not functional. The hotel is covered in scaffolding. The surly, sullen receptionist asked for photo ID in case (??) and told me to write gentlemans name here on the form (thats my husband). Alarm bells started to ring... Reception was partitioned off from building works by a sheet. Tiny bedroom (#3) with nasty blind - but this was inconsequential compared to the horrendous massive disco/porno light above the bed. It was at this point I asked my husband if he thought someone might have died in the room. He replied probably . Blocked basin full of dirty water. I had to ask the sullen receptionist to sort this - he huffed at me (was out the front on his phone having a fag) and stormed to the room - we then had to wait for a handyman to fix. Door frame missing. Dodgy stains on walls and en suite(cupboard) floor. We didnt risk the shower. We then got an Uber into town and managed to avoid returning until late. We were out of the door by 9am - there was an abandoned vest top on the step leading to the car park. Worrying. Ive just cancelled my bank card after reading reviews of fraud. Im already concerned they are charging me twice as its listed x2 pending payments. Im sticking to Premier Inns from now on.

Avoid at all costs, l would give it a negative rating if l couldl booked a single room (via the hotels' own website) after a house move that went disastrously wrong. The High Bank website and my confirmation email clearly state that check in is up to 11pm. However when l arrived at 10.10pm, l found the gates closed and padlocked. When l tried to call the hotel to resolve the call went immediately to answer phone. I've stayed at the High Bank on 2 previous occasions and found it to be both cheap and convenient; the staff were helpful and efficient. The website advises that the hotel has relatively recently changed hands and underwent major renovations in 2020. Bring back the old High Bank, the current one is a complete failure and a huge loss for Leeds.

Horrendous..So we got there, coming up the hill we thought it looked like a horror house but my mum always told me not to judge a book by its cover.. But it was hard as this cover was bad.. There's was rubbish everywhere outisde, scaffolding up on the outside, they was having a bonfire random.. Rubbish all around the car park, not just the odd crisp packet, broken items and wood everywhere.. The pictures that you see are a lie.. It's unclean in fact filthy and unsafe.. We actually wanted to go home and god knows why we didn't.. There were holes and leaks in the ceiling.. And stains all up the walls. Food or drink or whatever.. They have cleaners but clearly don't clean.. The blinds were pure stained yellow, and just vile.. Blood stains splattered up them.. Dusty also... Pubes or small hairs all over my pillow.. Laid my head on my t-shirt.. Even though didnt sleep as the bed was like laying on a slab. To be honest I don't know why we didn't just go home that night.. The one star is for the fact the bathroom wasn't unclean.. It was just basix but that is expected for 2 star... The shower is like a leaking tap.. So I would rather go round stinking to be honest.. Also stinks of fish.
