  Maravilloso

  Hotel bonito muy bien situado para explorar la zona de los lagos. Habitación grande y limpia. Desayuno variado de calidad (panes, salchichas, huevos, fiambres, cereales, zumos...). Internet wifi gratis. Parking pequeñito (7 plazas) gratis. Pero lo mejor, la dueña, una mujer exquisita de una amabilidad desbordante; se desvive por informarte en cualquier cosa que necesites (excursiones, mercadillos, transportes...). Nosotros teníamos que salir temprano hacia el aeropuerto y nos ha hecho el desayuno especial para nosotros fuera del horario. Cualquier turita se sentiría como en casa.

  Beautiful Hotel Garni in attractive lakeside town

  Typical Austrian chalet style hotel with a front covered in red geraniums (July 2019). You can't judge from appearance but they have to care to make this much effort. English speaking and friendly without losing Austrian "feel". Room a good size, very clean and comfortable with well equipped bathroom.. Breakfast good and varied selection. Went here on spec and although you cannot rely on ratings alone - this hotel DOES live up to its high rating. No hesitation in recommending it.

  Super reasonably priced hotel garni with Austrian charm and service

  The Hotel Schernthaner is close to all the amenities in St Gilgen and although very close to the main road to St Wolfgang there was no problem with with traffic noise. The church is quuite close by so do expect some noise from the bells from about 06:00 in the morning but even this you get used to very quickly and they do stop at 22:00 in the evening. The hotel is obviously a family concern and as such the service both for booking and during our stay was excellent. The usual hearty Austrian breakfas was available each morning and we thoroughly enjoyed or stay there. Parking can be a little difficult but we always managed to find a space. Sleep quality had to be marked down because of the church bells but this could be the same wherever you stay in Austria so just live with it!

  Friendly Family run Hotel

  Very nice hotel in the centre of St Gilgen. Family run and friendly. Good breakfast but they do not offer evening meals. However there are plenty of restaurant options in the village. Clean and comfortable. Excellent value for money even with a poor exchange rate. Would definately stay again.

  Great experience!

  on Aug 01, 2014. The Staff was very welcoming. The room was very cosy, nice and clean. The Location to the center is about a 5 minutes walk. The breakfast, wow.. amazing, a lot of variety/quality. We could not have been happier to have chosen a better place, taking into consideration price/quality/location.
