HORROR HOTEL!! DON NOT STAY HERE

Arrived at 4am local time with three young children to be met by the most unpleasant abrupt man on the filthy front desk, and not one word of English to communicate, so he was banging his hand for our passports to be shown. After 'checking in' we got took to the room, walking through a very dark path and up the stair well, with not one light working. Death trap. Well, the room. Dirty floors, bare electrics, dirty sofas with holes, filthy bedding with stains, Curtain duct taped to the wall to hold it up, bottom of bed falling off with staples sticking out, shower and sinks filthy, floors filthy, tv never had signal, stairwell pitch black at night, holes round the doors where frames were off. Food was awful, breakfast was boiled eggs and salad, the kitchen was unhygienic and they didn't wan you to look in. dinner was just told as 'meat' with awful side rice and pasta. we never ate nothing for the two nights we had to endure, so had to go out and eat, paying more even though it was supposed all inclusive. It was a 15 minute walk with kids to the nearest resturant that were exhausted. Pool had smashed glass in it tha guests were finding . tiles broken also. slide had damaged plastic/dangerus really. kids play are was minging and not safe. The shop was non existent with it being a dumping ground for there scrap and cats. The spa was uwful as the beds were all damaged sunloungers broken/canopys with big holes in. Beer was cloudy as they dont clean the pipes. No free ice creams for kids, no bottled water for any one. Cats crawling over tables you are supposed to eat from ouside. (can only eat outside also) No entertainment at all/ no kids club. We complained to staff and none of them spoke english so couldnt deal with the issues we had and showed pictures, to no avail and nothing done at all. When we complained to our travel provider, they they contacted the irem garden hotel to say we wernt happy. The staff sseemed to take a dislike to this and became even more hostile too us, making the kids very un easy, and ourselves. DO NOT GO HERE, IT NEEDS CLOSED DOWN!!!!

Generally poor hotel - Brits be warned

I stayed here as part of a large group (my family) in August 2019. There are a few positive things to be said about the hotel. The Hotel Manager, Bar Manager, cleaners and Owner's family all came across as friendly and did help us with various things. The rooms were very basic but relatively clean. However overall the hotel is poor. The rooms we were given were not the ones that are advertised on booking.com. The facilities shown in the photos on booking.com are of the sister hotel, Side Suite, across the road. The Oliver Twist-esque food is definitely the worst in any hotel I have stayed in before. Booking.com states there the food is a-la carte - it is not. The food is served luke warm to cold via an open buffet filled with flies. The kitchen area often had its doors open and was frequented by several dirty-looking cats (dirty cats are a frequent sight at this hotel). The service provided by the restaurant and bar staff was very poor. As mentioned above the manager was nice, but his staff could speak very little English. We paid for all inclusive, but only certain drinks are included in this. Spirits were allegedly included as part of the all inclusive price, but whenever we asked for any the staff would shake their head and exclaim "finished". We would then see a Turkish family approach the bar and ask in Turkish, then a bottle of whichever spirit they asked for was swiftly produced from behind the bar. Soft drinks are served in tiny cups similar to ones you swirl your mouth out with at a dentist. They would only ever serve us beer in a small wine glass, but Turkish families would be served beer in pint glasses. The pool is not clean. We witnessed a young child place excrement at the side of the pool, with it floating into the water. It took in excess of an hour for hotel staff to do anything about it. During and afterwards the entire pool area remained open to bathers. There is a 'private' beach, which is essentially a small section of the beach with Irem Gardens branded sun loungers. Drinks and food at the beach are surprisingly not included within the all inclusive price. Wifi is available but only if you purchase it and can only be used on one device at a time. The hotel is definitely not used to receiving British clientele. 95% of staff could not speak a word of English. However some of them, such as the cleaners and security guard, did seem friendly. The Turkish and Russian families staying here appeared to be having a nice time but sadly this hotel and its out-dated facilities fall short of what me or my family were expecting. I would not stay here again. Generally I found Side to be unpleasant. Not many Brits holiday here so the level of spoken English is poor. Almost everybody tried to rip us off by charging excessively or attempting to short change us.

    Overall good value for money

My family and I stayed at Irem Garden Hotel BBlock for 3 weeks in August 2019. I have to say that B Block is definitely the cleaner, quieter, nicer part of the hotel. We never had to fight for sun loungers (maybe that was because there are very few English that visit SIDE) and are mainly Russians, Polish, Germans & Turkish. The staff are friendly and helpful. We stayed self catering and ate out a lot of the time and the food we ate was great and reasonably priced. The beach is 20 mins walk (or a free lift from the hotel) and there is a charge for sunbeds or you buy a drink or two at the beach bar for free lounger. Lots of choice of food & drinks at the beach. The weather is hot hot hot with hardly any cloud if any at all some days. You do have the use of 4 pools in total (2 at IREM) and if you cross the road over to SIDE SUITE (2 pools there). One pool has slides at SIDE SUITE but was always crowded when we got there and this part of the hotel is dated. The cleaners visit everyday to tidy beds and empty bins and they change towels and bed linen twice weekly. There are wandering cats and dogs - ALL OVER TURKEY - would this spoil your holiday, really? WE HAD A FANTASTIC HOLIDAY AND WOULD RETURN HERE. Don't expect anything luxury, you are not paying thousands to stay here. The only criticism we had was the wifi or lack of it. ONLY 1 person can use at any one time and this is after paying for it and NO lift.

    Very very poor all inclusive

After arriving at 4 am to hotel were reception was supposedly 24hr we were met by a security guard who spoke no English not a major problem but couldnt tell me wat the procedures were for eating etc . Went back down at 7am to find no available until 9 were I was giving our allocated wrist bands and told food and drink is the other side of road . So I proceeded to cross a very busy road in the hope of a nice breakfast . Shock and horror as there were cats not only in dinning area but also in kitchen the food looked like it had just come out a garbage truck . I thought wow are people really eating this ?? I thought Id give it a chance at lunch time . No different the chicken they bought out was lukewarm to cold there was never any chance of me feeding this to my family . Believe it or not but the chef was preparing and cooking whilst smoking cigarettes. Our apartment was ok clean but very dated . The hotel manager was nice did feel sorry for him a bit .i explained the situation wid the food but couldnt do anything as sister hotel were food was was rented off of them and he knew wat it was like . He offered us free bottled water side itself is amazing and are the people . We booked this holiday through love holidays and feel very let down by there description on web site . Def wont be using them again. Cleaner was fantastic. They were even going to charge for air conditioner but I think the look on my face made him change his mind . Irem gardens is a lovely little hotel but go self catering not all inclusive. Side town. Is wonderful and will def visit again
