Make sure you read all reviews before booking!!...Reception manager was rude, unhelpful and arrogant. The Potiron room is not fit for purpose. It is a small bland, white prison cell above the loud staff area. The area to relax in is only approximately 6ft by 8ft and you have to use this area for your cases as well because there is nowhere else to put them. It has very small low chairs I guess to attempt to make it look bigger than it actually is - it does not work. It has uncarpeted dangerous slippy painted floor boards. The toilet area is that small my husband struggled to close the door. The mezzanine area is very small so the person pressed against the wall has to clamber across their partner to alight the bed. The bedside light socket was broken. The skylight was broken. The small old TV cannot be viewed it is in an alcove under the narrow stairs. There is no WiFi coverage in the room. The pool robot is left in the pool which is dangerous. I know this because we have had pool robots in our pool in St Rémy for over 15 years and the instructions clearly state one should not not to leave the robot in the pool even after the cycle has finished in case of an electric shock. A few days before we arrived I was sent a survey email asking us what we would like during our stay and the only thing I asked for was A LOVELY ROOM nothing else just A LOVELY ROOM. Whomever received that feedback had the opportunity to realise we were in the worst bedroom in the hotel (see previous reviews we are not the only people to complain) and therefore ask us if we wanted to upgrade which we would have immediately done. £268.25 per night for a very substandard room. The food in the restaurant was excellent however the service was average to say the least. Tables uncleared, no menus given out, no coffee cups, forgotten courses and food served to us which was meant for another table. In hindsight I wish we would have read all the reviews before booking. One ruined Wedding Anniversary.

Unexpected gemWe had a wonderful stay at Bastide de Moustiers last September. Food was excellent, room (Bastidon) was superb. We stayed 2 nights only but it could have been much longer as the area is really pleasant. Only drawbacks was night service cancellation due to Covid-19 and laundry was also not possible which is a shame.

Absolutely, hands-down, the bestI have to say that we are not big on writing reviews. However, we couldnt help it. My wife and I are foodies, and truly appreciate personal service, attention to details, luxury where it matters, comfort, cleanliness etc. I have to say that, being quite busy in our private practices as physicians in US, we truly appreciate all of the above during our vacations. This place absolutely won our hearts and is definitely the destination we will return to again and again. It fits perfectly the magic of the natural beauty that it is set in. Walking into any business we are able to discern right away what kind of person owns and runs it. A quick back-door glimpse at the immaculate restaurants kitchen as we arrived, was a harbinger of the incredible experiences we had in the days to come. It is not pretentious, it is not In your face, it is just perfect at every step where it really matters - from cozy rooms to immaculate pool, to out of this world dishes at the restaurant etc etc Many many thanks to the owner and to the team that he assembled. You, guys, are truly incredible. Thank you again!

Absolute peaceWe spent a few days at the Bastide de Moustiers in July 2020. We absolutely loved the place. We usually go to hotels like Aman, Belmond, or Four Seasons. Not at all the same kind of place. It is more "rustic" but you have all the necessary refinements. First of all, food is amazing. Having dinner on the terrace is really a nice experience that one is happy to repeat night after night as the menu evolves every day. The one star michelin is very well deserved. Breakfast is also great. You generally have it outside in another part of the hotel and can ask for many different things (not a buffet). We liked the pool. It is very peaceful and big enough to have a nice swim. Lastly our room was also nice. We had a small stone house for ourselves, adjacent to the garden and the bed was very comfortable. We rented the electric boat on the lake, which was a very nice experience. The chef had prepared lunch with delicious desserts for us. We also had half a bottle of wine to enjoy and the lake to enjoy. There are many things to do around the hotel. We will be back.
