    Value for money

I stayed here for a couple of nights. The hotel is within walking distance of the main train station, in fact you can see it from the station entrance (East side) so no need for a taxi. It is a stylish looking hotel with its reception up a long staircase within an atrium. All the staff were helpful and as always in Japan, very courteous. The room was comfortable but the carpet needed cleaning.Unusual for a Japanese hotel room there was a slight step down into the bathroom rather than a large step up. The price was very reasonable one of the best for value on this trip. Food, well I had dinner in the restaurant the first night, I was told last booking at 7 we shut at 9.If you are European. British or North American this beggars belief. My request was seen more of an imposition rather than a service as they had a table of 40 salary men very respectfully and quietly eating.I was only offered curry, desert was off and I was put into a partioned section all by myself. Most odd.The following evening there were a few in there but not many.As I arrived back after 7 I just made other arrangements. Overall a good stay, forget the restaurant and beware of a grubby carpet.

    Needs updating

This hotel is well located near the Nagano train station. The rooms are in need of an update (older furniture, stained carpets) but it is very clean and the rooms and bathrooms are large for Japan. The staff is friendly and the front desk clerks speak some English. The breakfast is mostly Japanese selections. We preferred to walk to the station and have coffee and pastries there. There is a good selection of restaurants, food stalls and bakeries in the station. Overall, this hotel is adequate if you are just looking for a clean, comfortable place to sleep.

    Hotel near to station

We travel from tokyo to Nagano via the bullet train to see the snow monkey. This hotel is a great place to stop at as the express bus stop to the snow monkey park is nearby and we can also walk to the Zenjiko temple from here, doing a foodie trail along the 1.6km walkup to the temple. As there are 4 of us, so we choose the Japanese style room with 4 futons. The room is a bit old but cosy and clean. We were given a room with the views of the busy nagano stations and it look magnificant at night with all the lights on and the trains drawing in and out (we can`t hear any noise from the trains at all). Best of all, we can use the onsen for free too. We did not eat any meals in the hotel as there are so many foods options at the station and nearby lane.

    Excellent location. Lovely onsen

Excellent location walking distance from Nagano station. The hotel has a lovely onsen which is free for hotel guests. Onsen is nice and modern. Our family took a Japanese style room. Its a nice change from Western style rooms with mattresses to sleep on. Room is comfortable but wished they provided coffee and tea besides just green tea
