  Choose Another Hotel!

  Worst decision of our two week South Korea trip. We only had a 1-night stay in Daegu, so we decided we would find a mid-range hotel and save some money. After reading the reviews on TripAdvisor and Agoda, we decided on Hotel Daegu since it was described as clean and well located. The location was fine as it had fairly easy access to the metro, but the rooms were awful. I have attached some photos, and I am not going to drone on about how horrid this hotel was, but I will tell you that you should seriously consider other options before staying here even if it is significantly cheaper than other places. The room smelled bad and was incredibly run down. The only positive thing I can say about this hotel was that the bed linen seemed to be clean and in good condition. (And for those of you who may think I am just a picky westerner expecting western conditions - that is not the case - I am perfectly fine with humble rooms - this place is not humble, it is dingy.

  Needs a thorough cleaning

  We picked Hotel Taegu for its location - halfway between my daughter's apartment and downtown. Advantages are a short walk to bus or metro (short ride to downtown). The lobby, elevators and hallways were nice but the room was shabby and needed a serious cleaning. It looks like the Hotel Taegu would have been upscale 10 years ago. I did not expect alot for the price per night but a word to the hotel owners, please scrub the walls and windows and clean the carpets. Even the lampshades were stained and yellowed. We did not eat at any of the restaurants. There is a decent coffee shop right off the lobby but it does not open till 10 AM. There is not a shuttle service to the airport as advertised on websites, but even at 6 am, a taxi stopped before we were even to the street - 10,000 won to airport. Would not stay here again.

  Discreto

  The hotel is nice, spacious room but small bathroom. Good wifi but breakfast poor. So many foods for Asian people but not for occidental tastes. Kind people in reception, they solved problem with wifi connection in my room in very professional way and very quickly.

  New on the outside only!

  When I arrived at the hotel it looked very promising form the outside and entrance. When I got to my room I was very disappointed. The carpet was not clean , the lampshades had water stains and the window sheers had a big hole in them. The bathroom was clean but the wood laminate vanity was warped and coming apart. So much for the "new".

  Stayed during business trip, nice accommodation.

  Very pleased with my stay at the New Daegu Hotel. It was located quite near Duryu Park, where the event that was the focus of our trip, the 2017 Daegu International Bodypainting Festival, took place. Although our Korean hosts chose this accommodation for all of the international judges, I would certainly return if I were in the city. Clean, comfortable rooms and great service each day are memorable. The hotel breakfast buffet was more than adequate, too. Any interactions we had with the hotel staff were pleasant and efficient. I would recommend this hotel for business or pleasure travelers. An added bonus for me was the coffee shop located adjacent to the lobby.
