  Nice hotel at Marmara sea

  Very nice four stars hotel in Darica, a little town situated in a peninsula on the Marmara sea (Asian side). The room we had on the fourth floor was quite big but, unfortunately (like most of the rooms) has no balcony, just a balustrade, so if you want a balcony choose an apartment. The bathroom is also big, functional and, like the room and all the hotel, very clean. Toiletry and sleepers are provided and also a mini-bar. Air conditioning and flat screen TV are also in the room (unfortunately all the channels are in Turkish). The restaurant was OK but it is the only decent choice in the area. In the rest of you will find only small terraces with no beer or other alcohol and questionable food. The only problem was with the language because the staff, witch is very polite and helpful, know very few words in English. It is not a problem, finally you will be able to make yourself understood. Breakfast is buffet, in Turkish style, with a lots of olives and vegetables and less meat, but you'll find something to eat. A bad note for the soluble coffee offered (in a country of coffee tradition). The hotel has an indoor swimming pool but we don't try it. The public pay beach is about 800 meters from the hotel, but you have to pay a fee for entrance.

  Excellent Hotel,..except the strange experiances...

  Well, this is a very good hotel, BUT...I really want to know if anyone felt something strange at first floor.... We had a very scary experience in room no 204... Couldn.t sleep too much..we heard many noises in our room, many human voices in the hall, but was nobody there..(in the moddle of the night). My sister saw something ( a woman shadow, in our room) when she finally woke up from so many noises..at about 4 a.m.. Was terrifing, when we figured out about all of these. Please, if anyone happened the same thing, let me know. Otherwise, the hotel staff are very nice! Food is..quite good.

  Excelent!

  Superb location. The hotel looks very good. Quality furniture. Breakfast very good. Private parking. Very nice staff and very helpful(staff could speak english). Breathtaking view. 20 mins to Istanbul. Very quite and peaceful. WiFi weak.

  Disappointing

  The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Some staff spoke good English but others spoke none. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The food was very good both breakfast and evening meals. We preferred to walk 200 mtrs down the hill to the little fish restaurant that served excellent food at a good price. They also served alcohol. The hotel pool and beach was not connected to the hotel and was closed while we were there. The nearest beach was private so no entry was permitted. There was no sign of a fitness room. There is a pool at the hotel but it was not finished and although we used it once, it was freezing. There was no where to sit or change. We booked a disabled room for a wheelchair but we couldn't get the chair into the bathroom and there was a spa bath {which didn't work} rather than a wet room. Although the hotel had a entrance marked for disabled it was impossible to get to with the cars parked and if you could use it there was then 2 steps to get up!!! We were given permission to use a backdoor which was great but it was unlit so we had to feel our way to the lift. We once fell over the laundry that was waiting to be collected. The hotel is not central and you need either a car or pay for Taxi to get anywhere. There is free wifi throughout the hotel.

  Great family rum local restaurant. Fresh food cooked by the mama of the family. Delicious selection of local tastes especially fish. Stravraula was a great hostess in service. Definetly value for money.
