  An Urban Oasis

  If you're looking for usual, don't come to this charming, peaceful, funky guesthouse. Nothing cookie cutter here. Shakti, a restoration carpenter,took a house with good bones and fleshed it out with repurposed materials into a beauty extraordinaire. And made it healthy and comfortable (superb mattress, heated toilet seat!). Vegetarian breakfast was yummy even to my meat lover husband. Shakti was full of good suggestions for activities we cared about (eatery, hiking). A lesson I took away from Parkland: Do only what you love. The staff at Parkland love their work, and guests are the clear beneficiaries of their passion.

  Best home away from home experience ever

  This was our 2nd stay at the Park Lane Guest House and we left there with the same wellness feeling that we had the first time. Cutest private little cottage in a very desirable location, the most delicious and healthy breakfasts, espresso coffee maker in the room (but also a drip filter machine for those who prefer that), beautiful selection of teas, very comfy bed, relaxing claw foot tub, beautiful and peaceful surroundings are all good reasons to go back. But the best reasons of all are the very attentive yet discrete Shakti who makes us feel so welcome and the outdoor shower. If youve never taken a shower outside among the bamboo trees, this is your chance! And if youre like us, youll want to build one at home when you get back. With no hesitation I say we are very much looking forward to our next trip to Austin so that we can go back to Park Lane Guest House.

  A wonderful place to spend a 1st anniversary

  My wife and I were amazed to find such a fantastic place to stay! We have nothing but positive things to say about the location, hospitality, and times we had at this wonderful place. Our new favorite place in Austin, complete with chickens! Our hosts were very friendly and welcoming, the accommodations were beautiful, and we would recommend this place to anyone!   Good vibes

  Sometimes you want to get away; like in the middle of a pandemic. This property feels like a secret garden in the heart of the city where you can BREATHE DEEPLY & feel at peace. The owner hand built everything and you can feel the loving, playful energy everywhere. Things that a wonderfully Austin weird: Stunning stained glass Chicken harems Groovy evening lighting Bamboo outdoor shower gorgeous neighborhood full of magic (im not talking about just South Congress) Ancient massive oak tree Fountains masking the music playing next door Overgrown native plants Delicious healthy food Silly pool floats Bikes hanging from ceilings The most comfortable and romantic loft bed ever If that isnt enough, the toilet seat in the Vicky House is heated and that is a luxury I didnt know I needed in the midst of a sweltering summer. We want to go back now, Right now.

  Love this place.

  We have stayed here several times and always enjoy it. I like the garden cottage and carriage house. This place is very green, from the landscaping to the the food, and the products they use. I like that Its quiet and so cozy and these rooms have lots of windows to let in the light. For breakfast they serve vegetarian food , using eggs from their own chickens. I love the pancakes she made the second day we were there, I think thats my favorite dish so far. Its a wonderful, kinda quirky little place located in a lovely neighborhood.
