  Very old building

  Recently, we went on a group tour to Beijing and Chengde. The first impression was it was a very old building, lots of mosquitoes and also a weird insect flying around. When me and the rest of my family members left the hotel, I got mosquito bites.

  One night spending enough.

  The hotel locate in front of the lake, it will be very nice when walking around there. The hotel is a bit old but room is okay. Breakfast was bad and cleanness. Everybody go and rap the food and food quality also bad. Went there during autumn time and nothing can do around there. Room wi-fi was bad and can't even connect some times. One more thing it was quite outskirts and difficult to get transport over there.

  Nice place

  The room was excellent with working amenities although the hotel looks outdated. The bed was very comfortable and there was free WiFi in the room. Had a good night's rest. The buffet breakfast was quite good too.

  Could not leave fast enough

  I knew ahead of time from other reviews, that this place was not good. However, I was told there were limited options in Chengde and tailored my expectations accordingly. Even so, when 2 out of the 4 rooms we had as a family kept losing electricity, and the staff was telling us not to worry about it, we knew what we were contending it. Had to take the tour guide and head to the front desk to demand a change in rooms. Not maintained with musty odor, and cracks in the walls. Hair in the bathrooms, staircase very dim, and there was no one manning the front desk late at night so I have no idea how secure the hotel was. Breakfast buffet served on tin trains which reminded my husband of his military days. They also ran a sales pitch during breakfast to buy paintings. This place needs a serious overhaul. Recommend you go elsewhere.

  Acceptable tourist class hotel in smaller township... Chengde

  Generally, the hotel is acceptable and cleaniness is OK. quite and old hotel without wifi...or at least the wifi not working. breakfast is sufficient choice to choose, but it's can be far from the room. lift is small and if you arrived in group, you have to queue up for the lift.
