Horrible, Rude Front Desk and dirty hotel

I wish I could convey in words how much I hate this hotel. Arriving in Hiratsuka early (10am) on the morning of check in, I figured I could try to check in early to my hotel. I was feeling a little sick and overheated, and realized I needed to lay down for a bit as I had a migraine coming on. Of course, the front desk denied my early check in, saying the room was not yet ready and that check in was at 3pm. Fine, I figured I could wait in the lobby for a bit and hopefully they would have my room ready soon. NOPE! The horribly rude front desk staff, an hour later, once again informed me check in would be at exactly 3pm and not a second sooner, despite my room being ready. If I wanted to come in early, I needed to pay about $20 USD PER HOUR that I would be checking in early. Talk about a disgusting scam. I literally sat in the lobby for 5+ hours, in full view of the front desk staff, who did not once apologize or offer to allow me into my room. Even at 2:30 they still insisted I wait the final 30 minutes before I could check in. Horrible customer service and I will never stay at this hotel again!! I will also make sure all of my colleagues, who come to Hiratsuka for business, choose a different hotel. I have never witnessed such money grubbing, uncaring, disgusting behavior from hotel staff in my life. AVOID THE HOURS!! As for the hotel, it smells like a nursing home and is dark and disgusting.

    The Hours -

Stayed here for 5 nights as it was the only hotel in the area that had availability for required dates. It is a budget hotel. I paid over ¥10,000/night for the first three nights but was allocated a ¥5000/night room on arrival. I'm basing this review on paying ¥5000/night. The bad: furniture and decor are old. Bed was uncomfortably hard. Shower flooded the bathroom floor even with shower curtain closed. Carpet is old & dirty in hallways and rooms. There is no elevator security- anybody can have access to any floor. There is no wifi available in any of the rooms (unlike what is advertised on some booking sites) but unsecured wifi is available for free in the hotel lobby. TV/computer with wired internet acesss is provided in room. The good: reception staff were helpful and polite. Great location- close to train station, bus stops, restaurants and shopping. Book directly with hotel for best value for money. Great value for money for ¥5000/night.

    Family Trip

We purchased a air and hotel package using Expedia. We got a good price on the closest location to my daughter's home in Imajukucho. The hotel is in a downtown location with lots of stores and resturantes. We were surprised to see all of the computers in the hotel and to see the rooms also had one. I think this is a 'gamers' favorite place to stay. I would not recommend children stay here as there are no facilities to speak of. The front desk staff were very difficult to communicate with. There was an area for free beverages which was nice.

    Great Value if...

Stayed 5 nights in this very budget hotel. Wifi only available in reception. Rooms were very old, decor outdated but for the price,if you book through their website, it's good value. Over priced & poorly translated through other sites which I booked three nights through but then booked additional nights in AUD. Bed was really hard and uncomfortable but it is close to Hiratsuka station and there is a bus stop not far from hotel entrance. Look out for best rates- things aren't always as they seem.
