  THE Perfect Location

  I hesitate to tell people how wonderful this B & B is, as I don't want it to be booked up the next time we might stay! We were there visiting all the historic sites--Colonal Williamsburg, Jamestown, and Yorktown--and it was so convenient to see all from here. Of course, as others have said, the food is fantastic, and the accommodations are beautiful. Having been there in early October the weather was splendid, and there were so many beautiful places to sit both inside and outside. The best part of the day was being greeted at breakfast by huge smiles on the faces of the chef and the housekeeper. The warm milk infused with vanilla bean was sooo good to add to my coffee at breakfast! We stayed in the Fig and Ficus room which has wonderful views of 3 sides of the house and is quite a large room. We were able to hear traffic noise faintly from our room, but it certainly was not distracting. We would definitely would stay here again!

  First B&B Experience

  The B&B is a beautiful place to stay. The hostess was very welcoming and our room was as it looked in the picture. The breakfast was delicious and was served in a nice setting. It is in the perfect location for all Williamsburg has to offer. My one and only complaint is they do not lock the rear sunroom entrance door, that made me a little uncomfortable at night. Our room did have a lock on the door but nothing that would be considered very secure.

  Very Disappointing

  Never saw the owners/hosts until morning of checkout. No one greeted us on arrival. No one was around to receive our room key on departure -- just left it on breakfast dining table. The property was unlocked, appeared neglected and very much unattended. On Saturday night, no outdoor lights were on and the place felt downright creepy. Huge disconnect between other reviews and our own experience. Very disappointing. Recommend staying elsewhere.

  Second stay and not the last

  As the title shows, Ive stayed here twice once in the Top of the Rose and the other in the Dora. Both times Ive had a great time and been treated so well. The decor is older antiques and very tasteful. Both times Ive been greeted at the door, given a guide to everything and then left alone. I like that. You go to a place like this to relax and dont want someone looking over you the entire time. Both of these rooms give plenty of space so if you decide to just stay in, you wont be in a small box. There are TVs with cable tastefully hidden so if you dont want to see it, you dont have to. Breakfast is filling and done in the cool breakfast area. Ive always had charming and wonderful hostesses. From coffee and pastries to quiche - you leave very full. With prices being what they are in Williamsburg for hotel room, the Liberty Rose isnt out of line at all. Give them a try, especially for a special occasion, and enjoy yourself!

  THE LIBERTY ROSE IS NOW A PRIVATE RESIDENCE!

  NO LONGER OPERATING AS A B&B! I know i'm internet yelling and I"m doing it on purpose! We booked a night in for Friday, September 28th, 2018 through bedandbreakfast.com. I received a confirmation and my account was billed about two weeks before our arrival. No one answered the doorbell or the phone so eventually I checked to see if the door was locked and it wasn't so I stepped in, noticed a stack of boxes in the hallway, walked further in and started hollering, "Hello?!" Scared a charming teen aged young man and myself half to death. The family were very kind and gracious but what a nightmare. Two hours on the phone to get an alternative bed in a box and a partial refund from bedandbreakfast.com.
