  Delicious dinner

  Called in today didnt know the area and stayed for dinner. Good is excellent we had a delicious cottage pie and excellent beef bourguignon. The dessert menu is tempting I had the homemade bread and butter pudding and we had the cheese board which was the best weve had in a long time, enough for two people with generous portions of a variety of cheeses. Staff are charming and helpful. We will definitely be back maybe to stay the night. Dont miss the place there are currently roadworks outside and you can easily miss this excellent pub/restaurant.

  Quaint little place

  We stayed here for a couple of nights whilst visiting Longleat safari park. The accommodation was very comfortable and breakfast freshly cooked to order each morning was excellent. Location was good for all nearby attractions and easy for travelling by car.

  Country Pub

  Room was large but no wardrobe or stool for dressing table. Bizarrely there was a large bath in the bedroom! The floor under the sink needed attention. Bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Needs a visit from tv hotel inspector for some advice! It could be so much better.

  Really enjoyable stay and dog friendly

  We stayed overnight with our Golden Retriever. We were warmly welcomed by owners and staff. Very spacious room with good bathroom. The room and pub are both dog friendly. The evening meal and breakfast very good . Overall good value for money stay. We would be happy to stay again.

  Hotel is closed

  Booked a room by phone but when turned up on 14/2/20 it is shut up and looks like a building site. Very disappointed they took my booking around 6 weeks before but did not feel it necessary to tell me they would not be open. Telephone number on hotel details is unobtainable!
