    Comfy Life in a Box

Location - check Comfort - check Wifi - Check Breakfast - Check Cleanliness - do we have to spell it out, Japanese are neat freak, so as this hotel's management English Speaking Staff - Check I stayed here for a couple of weeks during my recent business trip to Japan, the hotel is very convenient in so many levels.. It is walking distance from the bus station, subway and train, there are lots of establishments around it, you will never go hungry. Wifi is free and breakfast is served at the restaurant in the building, food is nice. If you put up the DND sign and you miss housekeeping for that day, they leave fresh set of towels and bathrobe on your door to make sure you get a clean set :-) They also have English speaking reception staff for foreign travelers. I would recommend this business hotel not just for business travelers but also to tourists looking for comfort and a reasonably priced place to stay in.

    Easy walk from JR Station

Clean room, very short walk to JR LIne and Keihintouhoku Line. Breakfast was perhaps more basic than some other Japanese hotels, but I see that as a first world problem. If you like a Japanese breakfast as I do, there is no shortage of food. Would happily stay here again.

Overpriced, small rooms and almost unusable wifi

If you are from outside Japan and thinking of staying here, just don't. Positive: rooms are kept very clean and service is prompt and courteous. Not positive: Rooms are small - to the extent that there's only one drawer for storing clothes and four coat hangers on an open rack. Wifi connectivity is virtually non-existent. It took 3 minutes to load the hotels' webpage. download speeds were even worse. All this for a pretty steep cost per night. Shameful.

Basic business hotel in a great location

The Via Inn Oimachi is not fancy but it is clean, modern and in a great location. The hotel is a 5 min walk from the JR station and the bus to and from Haneda is also a 5 min walk. There are a lot of restaurants near by including a 7-11 on the ground floor of the hotel. The rooms are small but comfortable and the hotel is pretty quiet making it a great place for a good night sleep. There are laundry machines in the hotel as well. It's all about the surrounding amenities and there are a lot around the hotel.

    Good basic hotel

If you have business in the area, this is a perfectly adequate hotel. Positives: helpful front desk staff most of whom who speak English, very clean rooms and facilities, near Oimachi train stations and shopping center, quiet, decent free WiFi, area is safe at night. Negatives: although Tokyo hotel rooms are small, mine was just too small for comfort. With a double bed in it, I had to be careful every time I moved around the room to avoid banging my legs on something and I had to climb on to the bed to open the drapes. There is only one drawer for clothes plus some hangers on the wall. No gym, breakfast is in a restaurant outside the hotel, and the front desk wasn't staffed when I went to check out at 7 a.m. (I did manage to rouse someone eventually). Some tips: The Cocos restaurant associated with the hotel has mediocre food including breakfast. You'll do better to walk 100 yards down the road to the shopping center where there are better places, including some western style restaurants. Be aware that there are actually two Oimachi stations, serving different companies. Make sure you know by asking at the hotel which one you need before entering -- if you get inside the gates at the wrong one, it's almost impossible to get to the other one. Similarly when finding the way back to the hotel -- it's not obvious where the hotel is if you arrive at a different station than you originally did. The shopping center near the hotel is pretty good and the prices are cheaper, sometimes much cheaper, than central Tokyo. If you are going to Haneda airport by train from the hotel, make sure you get a ticket that combines the regular train with the Tokyo monorail. Finally, be aware that if you don't speak Japanese, out here in the suburbs there are far fewer people on the street and in the train stations who speak English. Get information in the hotel before you leave.
