  Not up to my expectations!

  To start with, the taxi driver who took us to the hotel tried to charge us more than what was on the receipt, presenting us with other receipts which were not ours (we checked the time printed on them). He seemed threatening (and language barrier being another issue) and no staff was at the hotel entrance for help. On checking-in, my friends and I receive a cold welcome from the staff on duty that day. The room was very small and old (with old furniture too). The view from the room window was not that great. But the beds were comfortable. The breakfast buffet was good. Nice service in occidental restaurant. Smiling staff. The staff members responsible for room service were also helpful and smiling. There was nothing much of interest close to the hotel. There are some shops though, a KFC and the metro station is less than three minutes from the hotel. In the evening, the surroundings were quiet. However, if you take the footbridge, you access another part of the city. It was more lively there with restaurants, shops etc... On checking-out, the staff called a taxi for us. Those working on that day were more helpful, smiling too, and we really appreciated that.

  Good business hotel

  This is a clean and efficient hotel with good restaurants and nice rooms. My room was large and well-appointed, as well as being clean. Fresh fruit was provided - since it was lychee season, that's what there was. The buffet breakfast had a good selection of food. The hotel was reasonably priced. Adjacent to a metro station.

  Metro station

  I choose this hotel because it is one minute from the metro station, on the same line as the airport, and intersects with the line I need to travel on for business purposes. It's also one station from GZ east if you need to travel to HK. Service was good except at checkout - when the duty manager decided to have a 'morning meeting' for the commencing staff (4 staff) - who were all standing in a group behind the counter listening intently to the duty manager - instead of helping the 2 staff on desk to check out the 5 or so people who were waiting. Poor checkout is a common experience in China. The hotel is quite basic and the area it is in is quite dull. Breakfast was sufficient. Rooms on level 3 are very average, dirty and smokey... But don't need a swipe card to access so they tend to offer them to single male travellers (some of whom might value that). I asked to be moved and they accommodated that. I am returning to the hotel but paying for a better room. I would say the hotel is a good value hotel if you value the location.

  Hotel Viejo

  El hotel es muy viejo, pareciera como si se hubiera quedado atrapado en el tiempo, pero el personal es muy amable lastima que el hotel no haya llenado mi expectativas, no me hospede porque antes queria subir a ver las habitacion y el personal muy amable me lo mostro pero la verdad que por el precio que estan cobrando no vale la pena y no parece ser un hotel 4 estrellas (el servicio que ofrecen del personal si lo aparenta) pero en el resto, les falta, espero puedan mejorar..

  My 2 nights stay at Yanling Hotel

  As a wheelchair user, I was allocated 1 of the 2 wheelchair accessible rooms in the hotel. I was staying at the hotel for a ESCAP meeting. The hotel's facilities were adequate with friendly and helpful staff. However, the hotel's surrounding environment is not wheelchair friendly, The nearby train station is inaccessible to wheelchair users. The roadside kerbs were too high and can be dangerous to the wheelchair user. I was literally confined to the hotel during my stay there.
