Most horrible hotel I have ever been to! Don't stay!

We booked this hotel for a 5 night stay in early November 2013 and checked in this morning after a 20 hour travel day from Europe. We had 3 business rooms and booked based on reference from a colleague who stayed there in 2010 and was satisfied with price and return. Already the arrival started problematic. The lobby is dirty and full of old furniture that is falling appart. Personnel is unfriendly and only acknowledged our existence after over 20 minutes of waiting. The elevator was dirty and the way up to the rooms already gave us a bad feeling about the stay. We booked business rooms that should include wireless internet, but there was non, only wired internet if you bring your own wire! Who travels over 8000 miles and carries a LAN wire these days? Needless to say that our phones could not get connected to the internet at all. It is the end of 2013 and not 1995! Bad surprises continued when we walked through the rooms. Here are some excerpts: dirty bedding including urin stains, hair, and blood drops on sheets, pillows, and bed; dust and dirt everywhere; mold in the shower and tub; water damage on the wall; dirty toilets with dark brown stains on seats and all around toilette; significant white stains on sofas and seats showing that some guests did not buy the condoms offered at the mini bar(!); large gaps on walls showing that the whole structure is not really safe. Still the most disgusting experience was a small piece of wet poop in the middle of one room!!! In addition we identified a sticker showing that the food at this so called hotel was rated worst by the Chinese sanitary inspection. Don't stay if you don't want a disease. It is horrible. We left after two hours that we spent identifying a different hotel close by and still got charged half day stay. We just paid that to get away from that place. The low price and large room sizes can't make up for lack of everything else. Btw: I can confirm some earlier comments that the bed is too firm. While I did not dare to lay down, I did sit on it to try it out. Believe me, I slept on floors that were softer than this bed. All in all: NO GO!!! DON'T BOOK, DON'T STAY!!!

Owner/ Capital Investor Needs To Dig Deep Into Their Pockets And Spend Up Big Time

Yashidu Suites Hotel is located in Shanghai about twenty five (25) renminbi by taxi from Hongqiao Airport and also Hongqiao CRH Station. I had booked online with my decision made from reviews submitted by earlier guests. This turned out to be a big mistake. I stayed overnight on 18Feb2014. On arrival, I immediately put off by foyer and adjacent reception desk appearing almost dirty, uninviting and in need of renewal. Front Office staff were nice, reasonably efficient and were English proficient. Hallways seemed to be dingy and unpleasant. My suite was clean but old and fairly worn out. When I moved the big heavy lounge closer to computer I discovered that underneath had evidently not been cleaned for some time. Whole place appeared shabby and overall needs a good freshen up. Still I was pleased to find a number of good restaurants across the road and also on opposite corner to choose from. Pretty much unhappy with my stay; so I skipped the complimentary breakfast and went two (2) doors down for a Starbucks breakfast.

    Very old local hotel

I am visiting SH on a weekly basis, for business purpose. Always trying local hotels, so I know more or less what to expect. Yashidu is definitely under the average of Shanghai local hotel in terms of clean and maintenance. The room are huge, bed is extra-king size, but carpet is very dirty, and general condition of washroom and room are very old. Staff is kind anyway. Breakfast again below Chinese standard. Price is low, but can find better location for this budget. Pity because if renewed can be a good location.

This hotel has declined over the last 10 years!

No updating, stained carpets in places, peeling wallpaper in places. It's OK, but....used to be nice before. I stay here because it is around the corner from office I visit. It does have a Starbucks in the same building for caffeine! Close to Hongqiao Airport, about 1 hour by cab from Pudong Airport. They do have conference/meeting rooms available. Formerly an A- hotel. Now a C or C+. Wifi is available, but spotty service, and often had to sit by room door with laptop for better signal!

    Very comfortable

This was quite a luxurious hotel but compared to the prices you would expect to pay in the UK quite cheap. The room was booked for me but I would assume it was a business class room as it had a bed and separate lounge area and was finished to a high standard. The bathroom had both a shower and bath. The breakfast was very good with a good selection of food. Mainly Chinese but with a few Western options. It is located on quite a busy crossroads which some people may find noisy. There are a few restaurant choices quite close by. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the ones I spoke to had good enough English to be able to understand what they were saying. I would definitely stay here again.
